Re: Exercise bike question regarding technology

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am not aware of any exercise bike on the market that has a monitor with speech output.  Indeed, the more expensive an exercise bike is, the less blind friendly it is likely to be.  I suggest that you consider an old-fashioned upright exercise bike with chain drive and mechanical friction resistance and forget about the monitor and and use an ineexpensive talking countdown timer to keep track of your workout and listen to music or TV while you are working out to keep you motivated.  I have a Sunny Fitness SF-B1203 upright exercise bike with chain drive and simple friction resistance which is very robust and offers a vigorous workout.  Because the monitor is useless, I replaced it with a small clip-on fan to keep me cool while I'm working out.  I take exercise very seriously and find that the simplest, least expensive exercise machines are usually the most blind-friendly.

What is the best exercise and stationary bike for the totally blind. A lot of exercise bikes that I have worked with have touch screens with the controls and information like speed and distance is built into the touch screen. Is there a talk or Braille exercise bike?
