Re: Question about money reader.

No. I tried a brand new battery several times. I also cleaned the device. It still occasionally reads a bill but it might take around ten tries.

James, do you think your battery is down?

What happens if I got one around 6 years ago and it quit working?

It's very simple. If you are a registered NLS patron regardless of whether or not you are registered with BARD, all you have to do is call your network library and request a currency identifier. It is not necessary to fill out any forms. Like the DTB player, they will send you one which you can keep as long as you need it.

I didn’t look to see what the ;procedure is if you are a member of Bard. Are there instructions of what to do in that case?

Perhaps before proceeding further, you shoulde contact hyour library.

Yeah but I have BARD, so I don’t have to have someone else sing it, from what I read.

Also, on this page where you download the form, the following is stated:

https://www.moneyfactory.gov/uscurrencyreaderform.html

The application must be filled out completely, signed by a competent authority who can certify eligibility, and returned to the mailing address provided on the form.

Text on the page says the following:

Applications, available in English and in Spanish, can be downloaded here.

That, along with no fields that can be filled out by a screen-reader strongly implies that you are supposed to print it and return It by mail.

How does a blind person fil this out?

When I hit enter on the form it opens a PDS in edge. There are no edit fields, as Edge is a reader only I assume.

Thanks,

John
