Thanks John, I just changed the view and the page is back to the way it was before. I wonder how the view got changed in the first place though, I certainly didn't do it, not knowingly anyway.

I'm not sure what view I'm in, all I know is that there's an html button near the top of the page that I don't think was there before. I'm not sure though.

I used to land in my gmail inbox when I went to gmail.com but the past few times I land in something called hangouts. Since all I ever go to the site for is to mark messages as spam what can I do to get rid of this hangouts page and start getting the page I was getting before?
