Re: how do you get to this p c

There are instances with Windows 10 that Jaws does not fully load upon
starting the computer or rebooting. I know of at least 4 people that are
having this happen to them.

What happens is when they try to access the Jaws context menues only the
system menu comes up. So, the work around is to unload and reload Jaws.
Now Jaws loads totally and the context menues are accessible.

If jaws is running, try going to the desktop, pressing j until you land on
the version of jaws you want, then press enter. Does this not open the jaws
menu?

That is how you find JAWS if you want to run it in that way. It has nothing
to do with accessing settings in JAWS.

I just happened to think, since you don't have Siri on your PC, but you do
have the Windows Key. So, why not press the Windows Key, and in the search
box write JAWS?

Have you gone to the desktop and alt tabbed to see if you can get to the
JAWS window? Have you looked in the system tray dialog, you open it in
JAWS with JAWS key f11, to see if you see JAWS there?

My recollection is that when you are using the laptop layout, all JAWS
commands used in the desktop layout still work so you can use either
commands in laptop layout. Therefore, insert j as well as caps lock j
should work in the laptop layout.

Well, when I press insert j, nothing happens. But when I first turn
the computer on, the first word I hear is jaws. I have tried the menu
keys and the context key and can't get to any of those things. Pam.Pam.

Pam, if you want JAWS in the Systems Tray:

1. Press Insert+JAWS key.
2. Right Arrow to Basics.
3. Enter.
4. Tab 5 times to JAWS in Systems Tray to see if that is checked; if
not, check it.
5. Tab to OK.
6. Exit JAWS, saving changes.

I’ll have to check again. Jaws may be in the system tray. Pam.
