So this has nothing to do with the way they are mounted or installed into an
SSD slot I assume, right? They are virtually the same in terms of form
factor?

It has to do with how the memory cells are internally stacked. Stacking
them vertically means that they can be more easily layered for improved
endurance and capacity.

I'm shopping around for a 2.5 SSD and have noticed that some of the models
are listed as Vertical SSDs. Anyone know what is meant by that and how it
differs from a standard 2.5 SSD? I'll be placing this in an Asus Mini
Desktop. NewEgg has a sale going on these but I don't want to make a
mistake
and order the wrong thing.
