Perhaps it would, IF... and it’s a big if. Also, though the majority of contributors may not be on metered bandwidth connections, or paying per volume of data received, i.e., downloads; some may be. I suggest that we leave that sort of question to be decided upon by the moderators (if they wish to do so). Bear in mind, also, that not everybody has the same skill set, qand some may be slower to pick up on things than others (just the way we are all made).

If everyone would set their email clients to include messages in their replies, this would keep late comers to any particular thread up to speed as well.

Not everybody will do this. So it'd be better to ask people when posting
replies to make sure that they also send enough information in their replies
about the original message that they're responding to.
