And there are times when the issue is too arcane to be solved on lists like this and when the solution is more trouble than its worth.  sometimes, just switching programs is the best solution.

Sometimes, good allies are those who urge change or at least trying something new.

You're a real ally, Kimsan. I have not experienced the
freeze until the last week or so. I'm always telling people,
"just think, this time next week, you'll have a brand new
problem." Usually I'm right. Trouble is, guess what, it
happens to me too - cheers.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

That message freeze drives me bonkers.
With my singular experience that I'm reporting that you had
an issue with, my work around is the same as yours where I
copy and paste.
My set up is the same as yours, except I'm using 2016 and
not 2013.

My singular personal experience is with Windows 10, Office
2013 (Outlook 2013), Internet Explorer and JAWS. For the
first few months that I had this computer, it was just
wonderful to be able to click right onto any link sent; not
so now. I have no idea what caused the change.

Also, recently, I have started having a problem with a
message freeze, but immediately I got a solution - copy
message, get out of message, start again, paste, and
continue.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

I don't know what program is being used but her message said
that initially, links were more friendly.  Assuming that the
same program is being used now, it certainly may be some
problem with her computer.  But we need more information to
discuss the matter further and perhaps reach a conclusion.

Also, you are discussing your experience as one user.  It is
not proper to generalize from one users experience to the
performance of a program in general.  Your experience
indicates that a more general problem may exist.
it is not a definite indication that a general problem
exists.

No, it's not just her computer. If memory serves, I think
she uses outlook 2013, and clicking links is a hassle.

At times, you have to select the link, paste it into the
address bar, because pressing enter or spacebar on the link
will not simply launch it.

In other email programs I've used, none of that needed to be
done, so I doubt it's a computer issue.

It's happened to me as well which is why I stated what I did
at the start.

But that is some sort of problem specific to your computer.
Links were not more friendly.  Something changed in your
computer.  It may not matter to you enough to experiment but
you might well be able to work around whatever the problem
is by using another browser.  It's unfortunate that so many
blind computer users appear so resistant to trying other
browsers than Internet Explorer.  If people would just try
another browser, Firefox is more similar to Internet
Explorer than Chrome, they might be surprised how little
they have to learn in the transition.

When I first got my computer last year, links were more
friendly, and I clicked on any of them that came through,
but now, I have to wrestle with them a lot of the time, and
still can't get to the intended subject sent. It could be
that if I put forth more effort - but then, there is more
out there than struggling for a length that is not going to
be a life saver or a money maker for me or anyone I know.

Bye for now,

Chris, it is not that hard to email yourself the link and
then show the reader on the Mac and hit command shift I. I
just did this with your current link, And was able to show
the reader and copy the text. One thing you have to realize,
is that some people are not a fan of clicking links. And if
you were one of those people, six strapped to the group
below. I will be sharing stuff like this and I am also still
apart of Matt daily news which Chris used to share articles
from all the time. So have fun and enjoy.

Haha, I suppose I could've clicked the link by now based on
