Audio ducking is where the volume of another application is lowered so that you can hear JAWS. It does not drown out the other application, it simply lowers it is all. NVDA adopted this earlier this year. It is good for folks who only have a single sound card.

what is audio ducting?
how does this feature help the average user of jaws?
Well there is sure one thing I will be glad to have and that is auto ducting ! this is just a great wonderful feature ! Especially once jaws 18 comes out in full release and they make the auto ducting application specific! Very nice feature!
