Re: jaws tandem questions and home and pro differences

Hello, but there is NVDA and its remote add-on, both of which are free.

This is why I use remote desktop as I have one machine I can log in to to run apps etc from anyware and it just worked with window-eyes. When some one needs help up stairs I used the window-eyes connection. This is what I would like to do in jaws and hope it had similar features, but it looks like it is an extra expence for the remote desktop. So for me any way changing to jaws I’ll be losing functionality. Yes I know for now I can use window-eyes, but down the road that probably will not be an option as technology grows and window-eyes will no longer be growing with it.

I would just like to double check.

I can use Jaws Home Edition to do a tandem connection with a friend in a different State. He also uses Jaws Home Edition.

And, this is as long as he is there to enter in the code and accept the connection?

I'm pretty sure anyone can purchase a dongle.

If memory serves, dongle versions of Jaws are for individuals living
outside
the United States and those areas of the universe where Internet
connectivity is flaky at best. These individuals who MUST HAVE their copy
of Jaws authorized can't do so using Jaws's ILM!
