If only theI believe the original poster was thinking the metal part of the drive itself as the enclosure, not the plastic part in which the drive itself is stored, connected via USB. Taking out the platters from the hard drive itself does indeed require special facilities. Replacing a drive from one USB enclosure to another does not.
