It doesn't matter if it is the most current
version, though I would think it is. Chrome automatically updates itself
when it is running and the user can't stop this behavior. So if you
install and run an older version of Chrome, it will automatically update.
I don't hink it will notify you that it did, but it did. You can check to
see if the program needs updating and it's a good idea to do so off and on
because at times, some problem may keep the program from updating and you may
need to correct it, but in general, the program automatically updates in the
background.
