First, you actually do not need to create a Google account in order to use Chrome. The browser should behave very similarly to others that you may have used. To go to a Web site, press ctrl-L, which moves to the address bar or what Chrome calls the omnibox.
Once you're focused on the address bar, just type in the Web site address you want to visit, followed by the enter key. If you want to visit a Web site you've already been to, just type in a partial name, followed by down arrow for suggestions.
