Hi all,

After reading this message amdand went to Fast.Com and my speed is

110 MPS.

Then figured I would check out YouTube

And clicked link about Paul McCartney.  He has new record Egypt Station out and I hope to score tickets to his show.

Link for Paul and no issues with IE Jaws2018.  Enjoyed Paul on YouTube.

I just accessed five different Youtube  pages at random using IE 11and JAWS 16 and they all played.  Maybe the problem you are experiencing is with NVDA, not with Youtube.  Or maybe there’s a problem with your ISP and your Internet download speed is very slow.  Some Youtube videos will not play at all if your Internet speed is too slow.  You can perform a quick check of your Internet download speed by visiting

But, as I asked in a previous message, have you tried Youtube in the last day?  I was able to use older browsers up until about a day ago.  No longer.  I don't have IE11 on any of my machines but it needs to be tested to see if it still works with Youtube unless those saying it works have used it within about the last day or day and a half.

I have no problem with IE with YouTube or with stocks, the
main two Internet types I use.

Best regards,

Not true at all.  IE 11 still works perfectly well with
Youtube. And if any browser is incapable of doing things
that most blind computer users needa browser to do, it is
Firefox, not IE.  Firefox Quantum no longer works with
popular blind-friendly add-ons like Webvisum, Navigational
Sounds and Plain Old Favorites.  And some JAWS users have
reported sluggish performance with Firefox Quantum.  And its
built-in RSS feed reader has never been accessible, unlike
the RSS feed reader built into IE, which is by far, the most
accessible feed reader I have encountered.  I have not used
Chrome, so I can't comment on it, and don't know whether it
has a built-in RSS feed reader. The fact that Firefox has
been steadily losing market share among browsers attests to
its growing unpopulairty with users who are sick and tired
of its frequent and forced updates.

I suspect that you can no longer use Youtube with Internet
Explorer.  I may be wrong but I am skeptical that Internet
Explorer supports HTML5, whyich is increasingly being used
for audio as it replaces Flash.  Internet Explorer is
archaic.  It is useful at times and important to have
available but as a main browser, it is increasingly
incapable of doing many things people want a browser to do.

Additionally, I think that you will find Chrome to be a
faster and more responsive browser compared to Internet
Explorer. It will also take advantage of newer technologies,
which will mean better accessibility with some sites.
Internet Explorer 11 will still receive security updates for
some time but it will not receive any new enhancements,
leaving it somewhat behind compared to Firefox and Chrome.

I don't know what kinds of problems you are having
but the following may help.  For now, if you use control l
to move to the address bar to type an address, you will be
able to go to a web page in that way.

Book marks can be created with control d, just as in
Internet Explorer.

To move around in bookmarks, open the menu with alt
f, hold alt and type f.  Then type b to move to bookmarks in
the menu and press enter.  You are now in a bookmarks menu
similar to Internet Explorer.

There is a tutorial a list member wrote for Chrome
and it will probably be sent to you by someone.  Until then,
what I've written will allow you to begin to use it.
Browsing itself is just about identical since both programs
use browse mode or the Virtual PC Cursor, both names for the
same thing.

Commands like h for heading, b for button, etc. will
all work because they are browse mode commands, and thus
screen-reader commands, not browser commands.
