I am not Bob but did check and on Verizon, the retail is
$264 or $11 for 24 months. So it is indeed expensive for a
feature phone, but I want to do some

more checking on usability.

I have the Kyocera Dura and like it. It isn't cheap but it
is very accessible and full featured.
