Re: talking radio?

The radio you are referring to was called the Speechmaster talking radio, and it had AM, FM and shortwave bands. Unfortunagtely, its manufacturerr,Cobolt, discontinued it a few years ago.  The Sangean PR-D17 is currently the only talking radio on the market, and it is no longer available on the Amazon.co site, which means that it can only be purchased in the US.

Many years ago I also remembering reading about a shortwave radio which had speech output. I believe it was produced in the U.K. and wondering if anyone remembered anything about it.
