Re: Clickable.

There is a specific structure on a web page that some screen-readers identify as clickable and others may call on click.  Whatever the case, if you are seeing this structure a good deal on all sorts of pages, there is some sort of problem.  Clickable structures are certainly on many web pages but they shouldn't be that prevalent.

NVDA used to, I don't know bout nowk identify many structures as clickable when they aren't.  I turned off announcement of clickable items and I haven't checked to see what the current situation is.

If you turn off the announcement, be aware that you will hear some things read that are clicable, that is, you can click or use enter on them, but clickable won't be announced.  If you think you may not be seeing content you want to see, try pressing enter on something.

I have internet explorer and window eyes, and the first time I saw
"clickable" was several years ago when they did one of the updates, and then
I saw that word.  Pam.

It was not doing it in Internet Explorer. I guess eventually, I could get
used to it, but will ask on the JAWS Users list and see what they say.

I wonder why its happening in Chrome and not in Internet Explorer.  I looked
last night but I wasn't sure how to do it with what I found and read.  If
you don't get an answer that helps, I'll look again.

I am using JAWS, and this is happening on Google Chrome, which we just
downloaded yesterday.

It depends on what screen reader you're using. Most have settings that can
be tweaked to fix this.
