Hi Steven, Hope it works well for you. I may give it a look as well.

I think that way around is the answer for me.Way around, in combination with the barcode reading ability of seeing AI, it’s just about ideal it seems. Cannot wait to try it. Oh I agree that especially scanner is great for that. I thought he was specifically talking about generic bags or containers with no identification whatsoever. I probably use Seeing Eye and/or scanner every day. What wonderful tools to have.

Hi Marie, Yes, I realize that the apps I mentioned won't create labels, but the way I read his message , it sounded like he wanted an alternative to labels. There are apps that will allow you to create audio labels, but, as has already been stated, the labels can be accidentally discarded with the packaging. That is why I suggested the other apps, so the packaging could be identified as it is removed from the freezer, refrigerator, or cabinet etc. That is my current preference so I don't have to create so many labels. Items I am going to keep, get labels, and consumables such as food, are identified on an as-needed-basis. Just suggestions, everyone has their unique situations.

Richard, While I use and love both of these apps, I don't think either of them will let you create your own labels. I believe he is talking about stuff you might put in a zip lock bag or a plastic freezer container which have no bar code. That is the thing that Pen Friend does a great job on because you can even put labels on clothing. The problem here is, if you use any custom labels they might be thrown away by others. However, you can purchase more labels when this happens.

Hi Steven, You could try the product channel in the Microsoft Seeing AI app to identify packages by bar code, or try the Voice Dream Scanner app, to read the text on the packaging. Both of these apps work great, but do require patience and trial and error. I use both of them quite often, and am able to identify items in one way or another. Both of these apps can be found in the app store.

Is there any type of system out there that would let me utilize my iPhone to label freezer items? I tried the PenFriend and others in my household threw away bags and packaging with the labels still on them, so I got rid of it. Thanks for any ideas.
