I guess my question is, what is in that X86 folder that you are not getting from the others?

Hi Vicki,

The main Outlook Express folder is in Program Files X86.  Thanks for the address book reminder.  I normally have address book backups, but 1 more won't hurt!

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.

Hi Mike

Under Roaming, the microsoft folder has your OE Address book files. There are two in there that you need.

I have never saved anything under X86, so what is in there that I might be missing?

Subject: [TechTalk] OE6 For Windows 7 and 10, What Folders To Save

Hi All,

In case the OE restore tool doesn't work, what are the folders that I need to make backups of to get OE6 working again after a major update to Windows 10?  i.e;

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Outlook Express"

"C:\Users\Mike B\AppData\Local\Identities"

"C:\Users\Mike B\AppData\Roaming\Identities"

Other than the 3 folders stated above what other folders should I have copied / saved to an external drive?  All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.
