Subject: Re: [TechTalk] Info on a Kindle reader please
While Amazon sells many different models of reading devices they can be broken down into two categories: Fire tablets and Kindle ereaders.
The Kindle ereader has a screen reader and is only used for reading material such as books, magazines, newspapers and even comic books. Other than accessing the Kindle store you can't perform other functions such as reading Web pages, checking email, downloading apps, listening to music, etc. They are primarily designed as readers.
The Fire tablets can do all of these things but they are also full-featured tablets, meaning that you can browse the Web, check email, play music, use apps, etc. There are pros and cons to each. Both have a screen reader but I'm more familiar with the Fire tablets than the Kindle readers.
