Re: Question About Desktop

Bear in mind that items on your desktop are not always going to be arranged vertically and so just using up or down arrow won't guarantee that you'll see all of the available items. Press the home key to move to the first item and then press right arrow and you may find the other items.

Pressing the Delete key should allow you to delete **most** items on your desktop.

I would advise users to not have downloaded items go to your desktop. You're free to do that, of course, but over time your desktop will become extremely cluttered and it may become more difficult to locate the downloaded item you want to find.

To open your downloads folder, press the Windows key to open the start menu.

Begin typing the word "downloads" without the quotes and you will likely find the Downloads folder in the search results. In fact, the downloads folder may well be the first item that you hear and, if this is the case, press enter to open it.

What I do is to have a shortcut to the downloads folder on my desktop and I also assign a shortcut key, such as control-alt-D, to open it. That way I still have quick access to that folder without cluttering the desktop. Let us know if you need the steps to do this and we'll be happy to help.

Are you using Windows 10?

Hi Everyone:

I was wondering if anyone can tell me that when I have the desktop open and I can see all of my programs, I have 11 in there but I can only see seven.  How do I get Jaws to read the others? Also, how do I delete a program from the desktop?  One more thing, how do I get to the download folder?  I usually have all of my programs go right to desktop but someone told me some of them may be in the downloads folder.  Thanks in advance.
