You may not get an answer here. This may be an uncommon problem.  Do you have a paid account?  If so, I believe you can get support from people working for Dropbox.  I say I believe because I think anyone with any paid account can.  If you are a free user, you can’t.  In that case, you can join the users forum and ask about the problem there.

I believe there is a chat bot you can use  as a free user but I don’t know how much help you might get from that.

Subject: [TechTalk] Dropbox Question

Hi,

I have my Dropbox checked to save only in the cloud and not local on my computer. Today I got a notice that I am running out of space in Dropbox which I knew was not true.

I checked my dropbox sync settings, and everything was unchecked, the main folder and all the folders inside. Neither local nore online was checked. I tried to check the main dropbox folder to online, but it wouldn't check, so I went inside the folder and checked all of the subfolders separately and that worked, including automatically checking the main Dropbox folder.

I then added several files to one of the subfolders, and, not only did it become unchecked to both local and online, the main dropbox folder did as well. Those folders I hadn't changed remained checked to online, even though the main Dropbox folder was completely unchecked.

Where can I go to make sure this doesn't happen, that it will sync to online whenever I add files to a folder and not uncheck itself?

Thanks.

Hello,
I personally use the shark ion robot vacuum. It is very accessible other than the lights that are on it. Feel free to email me off list at the below email address.

Browsers for windows and iOS

Lexi

Hello everyone, does anyone know of any browsers not based in chrome? I have  firefox. Which allows me to move by first letter navigation when I'm going through my bookmarks. Which is really important to me because I have over 200 bookmarks. But when I go into the Firefox app for my phone, my last bookmark is at the bottom of the list and I'm trying to get them into alphabetical order. I know I would like there to be an app for windows and for iOS because I like all my bookmarks to sync up. I hope I'm making sense.

Yes, you have to have a product key to register the software.

Hi all,

I bought Ms Word 2019 recently and I'm having trouble getting it registered.

I have a product key and when I try to open a Word file the dialogue comes up saying that my copy of Word isn't registered so I go to where I can put in my product key and do that, then I'm told to go back and sign into my Microsoft account and this is where the problems seem to start.
I enter the e-mail associated with the newly created Microsoft account and the password but then it tells me that there's a problem with my Microsoft account. I can't figure out what's wrong with the account though, is there a different way to register without having a Microsoft account since this is the only thing I'll be using the account for?

I apparently can use Word without registering it because once the registration dialogue comes up I can hit alt-f4 several times and eventually I get to a point where jaws will read the contents of the Word file, and I'll do that if there's no work-arounds but I hope there is.

Thanks.

Accessible Flight Ticket Booking Platforms

Bhavya shah

Dear all,

I primarily use NVDA and Firefox, and am hoping to search and book
tickets for some flights within the US. I tried out Kayak, and while I
am still working through it, it seems to be rather dicey in terms of
its accessibility. Do you know of other platforms which are known to
be more accessible using a screen reader? Or is there a way of
interacting with Kayak more effectively?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance with the above.

Thanks.

Why would you want to convert them to .docx? Epub books are similar to DAISY books and will play in any DAISY reader unless they are incrypted.

Hello list,
So I’m trying to convert some ePub files to Docs. I have both Codex
and Calibre in conjunction with Carlos Nazario’s eBook-convert GUI to
make Calibre more screen reader accessible. In both programs however,
I do not find the option to select docs as the output format. There’s
TXT, RTF, PDF, Mobi etc., but no docs. Unless I’m missing something or
if there are limitations to Carlos’s Calibre add-on, I thought Calibre
would be able to do this, but I’m finding that not to be the case.
So… am I missing something and can Calibre in fact make this
conversion? Does anyone know of an accessible converter that can do
ePub to docs? There seems to be a bunch of online options, but all
things being equal, I’d prefer a desktop solution. Absent that, Has
anyone tried any of these online conversion sites and if so, how well
do they work?
I’m using the latest Jaws 2021 version.
Thanks,

Re: using NVDA

Ann Parsons

Morning all,

NVDA and Jaws are similar. I'd put NVDA on your system, and leave Jaws there too. You can switch between them.

Many of the commands are identical e.g. read current line, read title bar, get time and more. NVDA behaves the same way as does Jaws in edit boxes.

If 'twere me, I'd go looking for tutorials. NV Access has an aexcellent one, though it is not free. It is well worth the price. Here is an example of what google can find for you.

Hi all,
Okay, so I decided to download NVDA. What do I need to know about using it? I'm

screen readers? I'm not sure I want to give up Jaws for good, but I'd like to
know how to use it in case I ever can't afford to upgrade my SMA. Look forward
to any help anyone can provide me!!!! Using the latest version of NVDA and
Windows 10. Thanks Madison
