So right now I have until  Jaws 2023 .

Could I get this and get until 2025?

Could I get multiple SMA’s and get to 2027?

John

Hi Amy,

In a nutshell, if you have the annual license version you pay $95 a year to have it, but I don't know if this is a fixed price or if this price will go up.

On the other hand, if you have an SMA, when you buy the SMA this is good for 2 years / 2 versions of Jaws and when purchased in advance you get 2 versions of Jaws for $150.  Right now FS / Vispero has a sale going on until the end of the month and the SMA is $120.

It's hard to explain the purchase in advance I mentioned, as an example I always buy my SMA's almost 1 year in advance.  So, my current SMA covered J2022, but because of this sale I purchased my J2023 & J2024 SMA to take advantage of the sale price.

For any further explanation you might want to give FS / Vispero sales a call and make sure they give you the sale price if you do buy an SMA.  Their Phone# Is below.

Sales: 1-8800-444-4443

Stay safe & take care.  Mike.

Hi, was wondering what the differance is between the yearly license
and the s.m.a.  for Jaws for windows?  I currently have the 2021
version of jaws.  Trying to decide which would be better for upgrading
yearly or s.m..  Thanks for any help.

Hi Allen,

In your case I would call FS / Vispero and talk to them directly.  You will still get the sale price, it doesn't have to be done on line to get the SMA $120 discount.  Just make sure you get an agent that knows about the sale until the end of the month.

Phone#: 1-800-444-4443.

Where or how can I get this. When I run my serial number it says it will cost me 380 dollars. I know they have a discount with ACB Convention going. I would not get that to work. Maybe I entered the code wrong. I would like to get this.
I have the most current version of jaws.

You can get a SMA until July 31 that cover the next two years for $120, regularly $150. That is if in US. These licenses you can use as long as you wish. If you are not current then the annual license might be the least expensive. But at the end of the year you have to renew or your license reverts to 40 minute  mode.

That’s my point.  The add-on should have showed a dialog when time was running out telling you to switch to a different synthesizer and save the settings or you would lose speech.  the same for the SAPI Eloquence program.  This isn’t an NVDA problem, it’s a problem with the add-on or the SAPI 5 demo.

It isn’t NVDA’s fault.  the trial version should cause a dialog to appear when you are almost out of time and it should do so when you have time to change the synthesizer.  NVDA runs the attachment.  It’s the attachment that should notify the user.  People should complain to the program designer.  this is really bad design.

Re: Strange problem with NVDA

Gene

Your synthesizer is not able to communicate with the server to be recognized as registered.  When you run NVDA, issue the command NVDA key control s.  Then type e. That will place you on e-speak if that is the only selection beginning with e.  Then press enter.

If you have e-speak functioning, you can go into the synthesizer dialog again, and with E-speak speech, choose the synthesizer you want to use temporarily.
once you have settings such as rate, etdc. set as you wish, save the configuration.  the command is NVDA key control c.Now, the synthesizer you want to use temporarily will be used when you run NVDA.

Test over time to see if you can select the synthesizer you are using now. If it says please register this product, use the command NVDA key control r to apply the saved configuration.  That will cause NVDA to use the synthesizer you have saved as the saved configuration, in other words, the one you are using temporarily.

Once the synthesizer you want to use makes contact with the server again and the server knows it is registered, you may switch to it, then save the configuration again so it will automatically be used when you run NVDA.

Imagine my surprise when I clicked on the "Buy it again" button and was told the 43-inch model is unavailable. 32" is too small, 50" too big. It's 43 or bust, I'm afraid.

Re: Fire TV Extinguished

As I thought I explained previously, I can't. I have no sighted assistance here. There's no VoiceView. There's nothing to turn on or off. In other words, you can't just arbitrarily turn off the Wi-Fi, but if you connect an ethernet cable to the appropriate port, the TV will try to connect using that one first. I have not been able to try that yet, but there's nothing lugged into it now, so I should be able to at least find my own Wi-Fi, and if by some randomly weird chance I don't have any local Wi-Fi, I live in an apartment building with five hundred other tenants, so someone upstairs, downstairs, to the right, or to the left of me surely would, in which case I could at least have their network show up in the list of availables. All the TV does is continue to scan for Wi-Fi networks forever and ever.

It appears my three-year-old Amazon (Toshiba) Fire TV has, for lack of a
better phrase, lost its fire. It will no longer connect or even find a
local Wi-Fi network despite repeated reboots, resets and restarts. All
the inputs still work, but without VoiceView, its not possible for me as
a non-seeing person to get past the startup nonsense telling me about
what it can't do and on to the things it still can do, so I think,
unless someone comes up with a miracle cure, it's time for a
replacement. Amazon doesn't deal with this product any more, so I'm
obviously on the hunt for a suitable replacement. Is it possible to get
this device from another reseller? I called BestBuy and they avow no
knowledge of such. While it was working, the TV performed well and was
easy to set up and operate, so I'd get another one in a heartbeat if I
could. But if someone has a better recommendation, I'm not averse to
hearing that either.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, P.S., I sent essentially this same message to the accessible Amazon
products list and got no response whatsoever. Is this product gone from
the earth? Too bad if that's so.
