Hi, I have the same problem when using Windows Media Player to copy discs. However, I am mainly copying audio books so I can understand why they don’t get named.

I’ve seen messages on a list recently from someone who said CDEX no longer names tracks while ripping them because the data base it used is no longer online. My recollection from when I briefly used CDEx years ago, is that at that time, you could choose from two data-bases. What is the situation today regarding CDEX naming tracks?

Hello, I have more cds that I want to put on my pc as mp3s. However, I have not done this for a long time, long time. The last program I used was easy cd creator, I think like 4 or 5 version back in 2010 or 2011.I think it was a paid program and does not work with windows10. So I did not like the windows utility to burn cds in to mp3s. Is there another program that one can suggest. I find the windows version turns it in to tracks, not mp3 files. Maybe I did not use the utility program that comes with 10 right. Thanks Heather

Re: strange issue between my screen reader and windows folders
Gene
I don’t know what is causing the problem butt there is a way to close
things that may work even though you are having problems closing folders.
when you are in the folder you want to close, Open the system menu with alt
space. Type c, wwhich is the shortcut command for cllose when you are in
that menu. That command often works to close things when other methods
don’t.

Subject: [TechTalk] strange issue between my screen reader and

So lets say I open my documents folder or any other folder off my windows10 pc and I try to close that folder after I am finish with it. I try to not just have folders open all the time so I close them regularly. The folders will not close at all until I quit the jaws screen reader or NVDA screen reader. But, it mainly happens with jaws 2021. It will allow me to close the folder after I quit the screen reader just like it should when I had the screen reader on. I thought I just needed to restart the pc but, that did not fix the weird perplexing issue. I checked to see if the memory was an issue and I am still flying along. I cleaned my pc of all the extra junk from windows updates and temp files, issue still happens. So any ideas? It just started happening after the latest windows update. This is my current windows version: “Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1110)” Jaws “Professional Edition Version 2021.2102.34.” MVDA version: “Version: 2020.4.” I just do not know if it is a windows issue or a screen reader issue. FW: WebAudio.Com - Audio News App - New App Testers for iOS

Hey guys, I did a test on this app before and it is promising. Basically they have hired people to read news and they prevent it in audio form. They are looking for more testers and I was told I could forward the email below. I’ve done a hack job on it to make it make a bit more sense. John

Investors are wanting us to find more beta testers and I wanted to ask you if you know of anyone else who may be interested?...if so, please please please send them my way. We need people to spend a few minutes with our app and provide their very extremely valuable feedback. Since the version you tested (thank you kindly), our iOS developer improved the VoiceOver capabilities and we added increased speeds of normal playback, to 1.25, 1.50, 1.75 and 2.0 (double speed). If you know of anyone who is interested, I would very much like to connect with them! Please feel free to send them our way. They can reach me at betatest@... or this email address admin@.... we are looking for people who are either totally blind or have low vision who are interested in testing the WebAudio audio news app. They will need to download TestFlight and it is best if they have some tech experience and are comfortable with VoiceOver. the investors are wanting more people's input and feelings about the WebAudio app. Getting them to invest in an app for the blind has been a challenge. We need happy people yet honest feedback. Thank you very much, your help getting the word out is going to have a great impact on this app and service! Thanks, Jean-Paul

What they need to do it add the main phone under contacts and then tap the Symbols button and do any of the following: 1. Tap Pause to enter a two-second pause (a two-second pause is represented as a comma in the phone number). 2. Tap Wait to stop dialing until you tap Dial again (wait-to-dial is represented as a semicolon in the phone number). The best and the easiest that works for online

Format should be "Main phone number three commas and meeting code" without any spaces. Hope this helps Pramit Stay safe & take care. Mike. Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say: "Close Enough!"

Meeting When I open the invitation, I land on the field that says Organizer, and I hear the name of the organizer. I can’t down arrow or use read to end and get any more information. That is why I was tabbing to get to the meeting time, the location, etc.
I have several meetings where they do include information for dialing in with a smart phone, which uses the commas to separate the dial-in number, meeting id and password, but there are some which don’t provide that information. For those, I can always find the meeting id embedded in the link, but cannot find the password.

You can have a separate password for the phone login and the Internet login. I don’t know if the ID and passwored for the Internet login is ever the same as the phone log in..
Some invitations don’t have information for logging in by phone, Even if the ID and password are all numbers, I don’t know if they will work by phone. I receive one invitation that has nothing but Internet login information. I receive an invitation to another meeting that has both information for the internet login below the link and then farther down, information for logging in by phone. I haven’t checked to see if the information is the same because I log in using the Internet.
But there are two separate issues. first, are you even getting an invitation to a meeting you can log in by phone for and second, how are you moving through the invitation?
If you are tabbing, you will miss almost all the information in the message. the information you are looking for regarding Internet login and phone login is not a link. It is nonlink text and will be completely skipped if you tab.
I’m not sure if you have done this but read the e-mail as though you were reading any e-mail, that is, read to end or down arrow and see what you find.
Those who use Zoom more than I do and in both ways may be able to discuss the matter further.

There may be others with this few restrictions, but the one I know of with
the least restrictions for free users is
Smash,
I don’t use it to any extent so I can’t discuss whatever restrictions there
are but you can find out on the site.

Site Hi, Sometime ago, someone was looking for a way to share a file without using Dropbox or Send Space. I am trying to find the name of the site given and keep coming up empty. If someone has this information, can you send it to me? We need to send a large video to our co-workers. Thankks Allen

Re: Finding Passcode for Zoom Meeting
Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
When I open the invitation, I land on the field that says Organizer, and I hear the name of the organizer.

When I hit enter to open the invite, then tab, I go to Organizer, then Time, then Location. The Location has the link for the meeting with nothing below that. If I hit enter on that, I get the options to accept or decline the meeting.
I am asking this question because there are some situations where I cannot join directly from the link, but want to dial in only, so I need to know what the password is.

But what happens if you follow the link? I haven’t seen invitations with just a link and not the ID and password below it but as I asked, when you press enter on the link what happens?

When I press enter on an invite and tab to where the link is, I do not find anything below the link, and our company is making passwords mandatory for meetings now, so there should be one.
I know the meeting id is in the link, and after the id it says “pwd=…” followed by a bunch of letters and numbers, but it isn’t the recognizable 6-digit password.

The passcode will be embedded within the link, but it should also appear as a six digit number directly below the link in the invite.

I don’t know if a Zoom invitation can contain only a phone number. If you read it and you don’t see things clearly stated such as ID and then the code and then on another line password followed by the code, then it appears you don’t have such information.
Usually, before the information you are asking about, you get a link containing all the information you need. If you follow that link, your default browser will open and you can launch zoom from the page that opens and be taken to the meeting. You may do whichever you want, but that is a more convenient way, requiring less writing.

All,
I am using JAWS 2021 and Outlook. I am trying to find the passcode for a Zoom meeting but do not see that on the meeting invite. I am dialing in by phone only, and not activating the Zoom link. Can anyone tell me if it is somewhere in the Outlook meeting invite that I am missing?
Thanks, Pam
