Re: What is The most durable way to mark the touch panel on a dish washer?

Monte Single

Hi,

I have an over-the -stove microwave.

I had my sister mark 15 of the   touch-panel items with those small dots.  I don’t know what brand.  They are about the size and shape of a split pea.  You just peel them of the sheet and stick them on.

In 8 years, 2 have fallen off and that  has been in the last month or so.

Guess what 2 fell off?

You got it, 1 and 2.

I  these 15 dots probably cost about a buck.

I got them from the braille superstore here in Canada.  I think they are  similar to the ones sold by maxiaids.

They come in a little sheet of 40 and cost a few dollars.

Is there any glue on product that will with stand the heat, humidity, and daily cleaning of the front of the dish washer?  Or, is there some kind of an overlay product that I can hold up to the panel to assist me in selecting different functions.

For now, all I know is that it will either be a Whirlpool or a Kenmoore.

Velcro strips work well for labeling touchpads.  You can cut the strips into various shapes and sizes, and the adhesive is pretty strong and will adhere well to most touchpads.

Hi. I tried Office 365 for the first time today. Well, specifically I tried Word. It opened up as a web document, but unlike the MS office desktop app, it acts more as a browder based form than a document window, so that when I pressed Alt+F, the menu that popped up was more of my Opera browser's menu than a standard word applications menu. So, how do I edit my documents in the traditional office desktop environment with all the editting and layouts and styling and pages and lists and all that i've been using so successfully to write my office reports using office 365? Also, I found that I couldn't reactivate my desktop office 2019 anymore, simply because I've had to get a new pc to replace my old one, and it seems that I can't reactivate my licensed office 2019 because of the change in my computer's ID? Funny enough, my licensed Microsoft Office 2019 wasn't listed in my account as one of the products that I owned. Rather the Office 365 trial that came with my new PC was listed. It seems that that came about because I bought the subsription to One drive business, and unknown to me, Office 365 came with the deal. What a wonderful world of software deals we live in today eh? That aside, can anybody inlighten me on how to get going with the web version, for it seems to me that it is, of Microsoft office, aka Office 365? Cheers!

Re: How do I access the notification center on an iPhone?

Carolyn Arnold

To get to Notifications on an iPhone 10 or newer, place one finger at the top of the screen, hear the blip, slide down to the next blip, slide to the next one after that, and there you are.

With an older iPhone and also you can do this with a new one, put your fingers at the top of the screen, and slide three fingers down to get to Notifications.

So when I get a notification and miss it, it's supposed to go the notification center, but I can't find a way to access it.
How do you open the notification center on an iPhone. The given example says use a one finger up swipe, but that doesn't work with voice over as it conflicts with their commands.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Re: Inquiry About Changes to Audible File Format

Hi Group,

Here is an update.  Apparently this issue is browser dependent.

I am using Firefox as my primary browser.  When I use audible sync the files download in AAX format.  I wonder what would cause this issue. I will try downloading with Edge Browser.  Using Edge Browser, the files download in AAX: go figure.

Re: got a gmail message with a picture of a tracking number

I don’t recall seeing any answer to this question.  I’m not sure which screen-reader you are uswing but you could use OCR available with NVDA or JAWS to see if the number can be properly recognized.  NVDA uses the OCR included in Windows 10 and JAWS uses Openbook OCR.

Be aware, however, that since OCR makes errors, the number may not be correct.

J2022 Beta3 Download Link + What's New

Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>

Hi all,

J2022.2110.30 Beta 3 download link + what's new is below.

32 & 64 Bit Download Link:

Enhancements in JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion 2022 Public Beta 3

The following is a list of improvements made between Public Beta 2 and Public Beta 3. Note that while many customer-reported enhancements are included
in this release, the following is a list of more notable changes.

Enhancements in JAWS 2022 and Fusion 2022 Public Beta 3
list of 9 items
• In JAWS and Fusion, added new Quick Settings options for Outlook 365 that let you turn off the announcements for unread, replied, or forwarded. While
in Outlook 365, press INSERT+V for Quick Settings, and then search for "Indicate" to find the 3 options.
• Addressed a reported issue in Outlook 365 where JAWS was not announcing autocomplete results when typing names into the address fields of a new message.
• When pressing ESC to exit the Sound Cards layer (INSERT+SPACEBAR, V, C), JAWS now plays the sound to indicate you have exited the layer.
• If you configured JAWS to use a different sound card other than the Windows default, resolved an issue where JAWS generated sounds would continue playing
through the Windows default sound card until JAWS was restarted.
• Addressed a reported issue where Settings Center would become unresponsive if you typed a quotation mark in the Search edit box.
• Addressed an issue where JAWS was not reading as expected while navigating by line in Google Docs and you encountered a link spanning multiple lines.
• While the default font size for the Braille and Text Viewers is 20, it is now possible to set the size as low as 16 if needed.
• Resolved an issue where pressing INSERT+SPACEBAR, X to launch the Flexible Web wizard was not working as expected in Edge Chromium.
• Added support for Azure Virtual Desktop.
list end

Stay safe & take care.  Mike.
Just once, I want a username and password prompt to say:  "Close Enough!"

try Picture smart in JAWS.
If you have a smart phone you can try using seeing AI app. or Be my eyes app. JAWS has a OCR, but not sure if you can use it on an image.
