Hi,

I don’t use a desktop, or any form of desktop keyboard.

I use a laptop where dang near every key is close together but I’m not complaining about that as the memory, hd, speed of this laptop makes up for all of that lol.

Here’s my question and I would love to get some pointers/thoughts.

When typing, and in the middle of your sentence, or writing in general, you need to hit one of the function keys up above, what is your technique.

Do you start from the left, and count? Do you start from the right hand side of the keyboard and count left?  The former I do sometimes, but the latter I never do because right after the function key 12, there is the print screen and delete key, but again, there is no gap. From the escape all the way across the board to the other side.

Anyways, just thought I’d ask to those who use keyboards where all the keys are close together.

Hi Kimsan,

I am not a laptop user,

In the situations where I had to use a laptop, such as the last few years of work,  I plugged in a regular keyboard.

I do have a Bluetooth keyboard which I do use with my iphone sometimes.

To make life a little easier, I have put little dots of fabric paint on  some of the keys such as;

F4,   f8, f12,  and the numbers row items, 4, 7, and 0.

In this way, I do not have to count keys.

I used fabric paint  because some of the keys, especially the function keys are very small, like the function keys ona a laptop.

This fabric [paint is available at hobby and sewing stores, is cheap and sticks real well to plastic.

Yes, I got  a sighted friend to put the  paint dots on for me, otherwise, I would be wearing it.

If I had a close source  of inexpensive lockdots available, I would use that,  so fabric paint it is.

Oh, I get you now. My daughter-in-love has one but doesn't like it. I
think I prefer the nice, clean K-cups, especially, since, if I get it
from Wal-Mart, my coffee is less than 25¢ a cup.

Carolyn, they have reusable K cups for Keurigs that aren't actually
made by Keurig, but still work. The one I'm thinking of is the size
of a regular plastic K cup with a hinged lid that lifts up so you can
put any ground coffee inside. It clicks shut and fits perfectly into the
brewer.


If I remember correctly the one that came with mine had three pieces--
A holder, a reusable filter and a lid. It was a pain to clean.


The one that's just a small cup is much easier to use, though it does
need to be cleaned out between uses, of course.

You can even get k cups in the grocery store. But I like to find
larger boxes. Costco and BJ's has boxes of 100. I get the large box
from my supermarket, which is breakfast blend light. It only has 72

Over priced is a matter of opinion. My wife and I are very happy with
our Keurig and would replace it in a second if we had too. Our model
is 100% accessible. I replace the filter every sixty days and I also
use a special cleaning powder in the water tank every six months to
extend the life of the unit. I currently have Green Mountain dark
roast, victor Allen Medium roast Pumpkin spice, And Cameron’s
Cinnamon Sugar cookie K cups here right now. I buy them in bulk and
get a very good price. And plan to get some peppermint mocha for
Christmas possibly. I use sugar free Italian Cream Cramer in the K
cups and none of them affect my blood sugar even though all of them
sound very sweet. I wouldn’t trade my Keurig and K cups for anything but
another Keurig and more K cups.

close the top and have water in it. Outside of that, it's just a
regular blue light.
I'm thinking about getting the old school coffee maker to put coffee
grounds in as I'm tired of k cups, it's not strong enough for me.
The only reason why I got the machine we are talking about because it
makes coffee quicker than you can sneeze and wash your hands.

Have either of you or anyone on the list used the reusable coffee pods?
I have tried it several times but do not care for it much. The
reusable Keurig pods are in three peaces and I do not care much for
the taste. I use the Folgers Classic coffee pods and I order them from Keurig.

You can even get k cups in the grocery store. But I like to find
larger boxes. Costco and BJ's has boxes of 100. I get the large box
from my supermarket, which is breakfast blend light. It only has 72
kcups, though, but it's better than the boxes of ten or twelve! I
was surprised that any breakfast blend would be a light roast. I
thought it would be stronger, after all, supposedly to wake you up, right? Pam.

Over priced is a matter of opinion. My wife and I are very happy with
our Keurig and would replace it in a second if we had too. Our model
is 100% accessible. I replace the filter every sixty days and I also
use a special cleaning powder in the water tank every six months to
extend the life of the unit. I currently have Green Mountain dark
roast, victor Allen Medium roast Pumpkin spice, And Cameron’s
Cinnamon Sugar cookie K cups here right now. I buy them in bulk and
get a very good price. And plan to get some peppermint mocha for
Christmas possibly. I use sugar free Italian Cream Cramer in the K
cups and none of them affect my blood sugar even though all of them
sound very sweet. I wouldn’t trade my Keurig and K cups for anything but another Keurig and more K cups.

It's not that long. Mine isn't.
Also, the blinking blue light appears after you put the k cup in and
close the top and have water in it. Outside of that, it's just a
regular blue light.
I'm thinking about getting the old school coffee maker to put coffee
grounds in as I'm tired of k cups, it's not strong enough for me.
The only reason why I got the machine we are talking about because it
makes coffee quicker than you can sneeze and wash your hands.

Incidentally, the cord looks really short, like maybe 4 to 6 inches.

The three buttons go from small, medium and large.

Small is at the top and large is at the bottom.

There is a blinking blue light next to the three buttons we are
talking about.

After you get the coffee going, it will make a sound indicating
you're in business. Just wait after the sound starts and after you
hear coffee pouring, you'll know. Just remember to put a cup there.
Lol

I was so tired one morning, I forgot to put the cup there, and I
pushed the button, dang, it was a hot mess lol.
