Well, finally had a place to use Rumola at and used it with IE with the bookmark version. It worked like a charm. I just went down to the capture box and click in it and then did Alt A and then F twice in my case and it took me to my favorites bar and I click on Rumola and it put the text in the box. Now it did not tell me it had put the text in the box so I had to use the arrow keys to read the text in the box. Once I knew it was there then I clicked finish in my case. And it took me to what I needed.

So Now I can recommend this to any one that it is worth every penny especially if you want to use IE.

From what I briefly look just now, it will cost you $20 to get  the dectalk access32 voice for window-eyes, eloquence from codefactory for $69.

If you can find some sapi 4 enable voices like from microsoft, it should be sufficient for daily use.

I believe Window-eyes comes with the same voice as NVDA does.  I'm not sure about that but that voice is freeware and Window-eyes doesn't provide any voice that costs money in the free version.  Also, though I don't know this, if you don't have other available voices, you can probably use the Narrator voice or any other Microsoft voices you may have.  Others may know definitly.

Yes there is some MS voices and they are free or you can buy some  for NVDA.
Now the difference in the paid version of WE and the Free version of WE is nothing but support. The Paid version you have support and maybe some other voices and the un paid version no support and only the voice it comes with . Unless you buy more voices.

Re: window eyes and nvda

Thomas N. Chan

Beside the support, you don't need to have office 2010 and above or any microsoft office installed to get the free window-eyes going.

For those budget constrain users, they can just buy one time or get a academic licence if they are studying in a school, get some high discount of office and get window-eyes going.
Or they can also get a family or multiple computer licence of office, one time payment, and they can enjoy the power of window-eyes for free. Or even office365, like $10 or something each month, they also get it for free.

Re: How do I know if my PC has bluetooth?

Thomas N. Chan

To add to what carlos have said. You can also look at your device manager from the system properties or just type devmgmt.msc from the run.

If you have it,  it should have a catergory  call  something Bluetooth radio or something to do with Bluetooth.

Of course, if you have turn it on as well, else it will not show it there.

The best its to check your model of your computer to see if its listed.

Is there a desktop or laptop or model you know of?

If it does, usually you will se the bluetooth icon in the system tray.  If you don't see the bluetooth icon in the system tray, then you can try typing

Change Bluetooth settings

in the Start menu search field.  If you can find this item, select it and make sure that the

"Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area"

checkbox is checked.  If a search does not reveal this item, then the chances are that your machine does not have a bluetooth adapter.

Hello Rob:

Is it possible that your ink cartridges are not sitting well in the spaces
provided for them? I've never encountered a printer that asks about toner
alignment or printer alignment. Do you have eyeballs around that can help
take a look?

If all else fails, you may want to consider talking to the tech support of
the printer's manufacturer or else try seeing what you can find as an online
resource to solve the problem. What make and model is this printer?

I just installed a printer today. It is just about the first printer I've used in several years; normally I deal with everything electronically. But I have a letter that I want to send which I think will have greater impact if received in the regular mail
Anyway, when I start a print job, a dialog comes up. It is talking about aligning the ink cartridges, or something like that. What is this all about? Is it necessary?

Re: VMWareWorkStation virtual windows 7 64 bit questions

Norman

Hi.
I'll try to put answers below each question.
One thing you need to learn, especially if you want to build multiple machine is how to use the interface. Each machine has it's own tab and you switch between machines by pressing control tab. to know which machine you're on press insert t to read the title bar.

To power on the machine if you are on it's window press control B.

How do I get to the virtual desktop in windows 7?
To switch keyboard control to the virtual machine press control g. To switch back to the host computer press control alt.

Can I copy from the downloads folder in windows 7 to the downloads folder in windows 10?
The only way to do this that i'm aware of is to set up a shared folder on one of the machine and transfer files that way. I have a nas for that purpose. I believe there may possibly be other ways to allow drag and drop or copy and paste but don't know for sure.

How do I navigate between windows 7 and windows 10?  On windows 7 I plan to install jaws 13.  On windows 10 I am running jaws 17.
That shouldn't be a problem. Think of the virtual machine as a completely separate physical computer.

  Can some one please help?

Re: window eyes and nvda

If you do that, you won't necessarily see voices.  If you have unrestricted SAPI 5 voices, for example, you first have to turn on SAPI 5 in the synthesizers menu. Then you have to open voices and see what is there.

If you do something and lose speech, press escape a number of times to make sure you are out of the NVDA window, then issue the command insert control r to restore the saved configuration.  That command works in the desktop layout.  I don't know if it does in the laptop layout.  You will then have the voice you started with.  It will be the original voice unless you changed it and saved the configuration.

Re: Bad image or dll file

I don't think there is any synchronization in this case.  If you remove the program using add/remove programs, it will probably leave the files in the drop box folder in the My documents folder on your machine.  If you are uneasy about that, copy the drop box folder somewhere else and then remove the program.  Of course, you could do a search to get information but copying the folder is very likely all the protection you will need.
