    hi:
just to make sure you're pressing the right buttons.
all the buttons we are talking about are in the same group of buttons just to the right of the speaker grille.
the menu button is at the top.
the seek down and up buttons are the left and right buttons in this same group.
the enter button is at the bottom of this group.
so, tap the top button, (the menu button), six times, then, the seek up button, (the right button in this group), once, then, the enter button, (the bottom button in this group), once.

hope this helps.
we'll get this working for you.

take care.

Hi,
Oh dear I wish that’d been the solution.  Either something’s radically wrong or I’m just inept.  I’ve followed your instructions to the letter and sadly still no speech.  I can’t imagine what the problem could be. I even tried capturing the display with KNFB reader to no avail (sad face).
but I do appreciate  your trying to help little me. It really meant a lot (smile).

hi robin:
it would help if I actually checked what I've written and made sure I had it right.
I was going from memory which, of course, can be a bad thing.
so, let's try this again.
tap the menu button 6 times.
then, tap the seek up button, and then tap the enter button.
I told you wrong in previous response.
no wonder you couldn't get any voice.
I actually gave you the turning-off voice inso.
so, once again:

tap menu 6 times.
then, tap the seek up button.
then, tap the enter button.

the voice will not speak until you press a button after these instructions.
also, you should turn off the alerts.

we can talk about that after you get the voice going.
you can tell if the alerts are on because when you turn the radio on or off, you will hear either alerts on or alerts off.
oh, by the way, you must long press the power on/off button to turn it on or off.
if the radio is on, a short press on the power button will switch between am and fm.
hope this helps.

sorry for the wrong info.

Hi, I did it on an external drive. I don't see no real reason to do this with my computer as it has a power on password and a admin bios password as well as my logon screen password. So for the most part I think it is safe . I might get something so I can password lock and encrypt individual files on my computer . But I more concern with my external USB HD .

Well, I just used bit locker for the first time on my Seagate Free

is a 500 gB drive so it took a long time to encrypt it but it did it
and now my stuff is encrypted and password protected on my external USB drive.

So I highly recommend it for those that have it to use. I think
you have to have windows professional and above to have this feature
in windows. I have W7 64 bit Ultimate edition of windows and then W10
pro which I think has it also.

Sure. A bathroom faucet isn't much different than a kitchen sink. There are screw on filter systems which come with various sizes of faucet heads. Look at PUR Water Filters; Walmart carries them and you can get one for about forty dollars.

hi bill:
don't know anything about that particular radio except on these there's now way for a blind person to set the clock.
the display button usually just toggles between frequency and time
which, of course, is of no use to us.my opinion is as long as I can operate the radio, I really don't need another clock.
since we can't see it, why bother.
of course, if the clock were to be part of the operation, that would be different.
but on these radios, you don't need the clock or display.

hi:
ok.
first group of buttons:
top, menu: left, seek down: right, seek down: bottom, enter.
second group:
top, power on/off, am/fm band selector: middle, left button, scan down: right button, scan up: bottom button, display.
third and last group, top button, vol. up: left button, preset down: right button, preset up: and finally, bottom button, vol. down.

to turn on voice alerts, tap menu 6 times, tap seek down button and then press enter.
hope this helps, if you need more clarification, don't be afraid to ask.
I hope I explained the location of the buttons well enough.
p.s. I named each group of buttons from the right of the speaker to the end of the radio.

bathroom sink filters

heather albright

This may sound strange but, I am looking for a bathroom sink water filter!  Has anyone seen something like this?  I seem to have a lot of     chlorine in my apartment's water! I have a countertop filter for the kitchen and filtered shower head!  Now, I want to brush my teeth without smelling that weird chlorine  in the water!  Thanks, Heather

Re: my documents folder on desktop

My laptop has two downloads icons on my desktop.  They are not for the same folder.  Each one I enter on shows me different stuff inside.  So, make sure you don’t really have two different folders with two different icons.  Press enter on each one, and make sure it takes you to the same place and the same stuff is in it.  Pam.

Focus on the My Documents icon on the desktop that you want to delete, and use the delete option on the context menu (Shift-F10) to delete it.  Note that this icon is only a shortcut to the My Documents folder, so even if you delete it, the folder itself will not be deleted.

It is part of Windows 7 if you have the Ultimate edition. Otherwise no.

When you say you encrypted the whole drive, I was confused if you meant an external or internal. If internal, how did the login screen work with your screen reader? Did the drive slow down noticeably?

Well, I just used bit locker for the first time on my Seagate Free
Agent Drive. It work great! It was fairly easy to do. Now this drive
is a 500 gB drive so it took a long time to encrypt it but it did it
and now my stuff is encrypted and password protected on my external USB drive.

So I highly recommend it for those that have it to use. I think
you have to have windows professional and above to have this feature
in windows. I have W7 64 bit Ultimate edition of windows and then W10
pro which I think has it also.
