Re: Alternatives to Gmail

Matt

I would think so I don’t use it that much web base just like Gmail I don’t use it hardly web base.

I have no problem with my computer and screen reader using it .But this is me and using IE11 and W7 and jaws 17 . If she or he is using something different they might have a different experience all together.

Also what I think is very accessible and user friendly is coming from me and it is hard to say with another person and not even knowing what kind of computer they have like Windows or Mac or what browser they are using and what version or what screen reader and version they have. Also how familiar they are with their PC and the web and their screen reader.

All I can say is give it a go it is free and if she don’t like it abandon it or delete the account. Like I say it is Free.

Does she have a smart phone >? If so what kind?

But can you install Windows 10 if you are using Windows Starter?  I'm skeptical that Microsoft would allow you to upgrade Windows in that way.  I also don't know whether a Netbook running Windows Starter will run full Windows well.  I'm not saying it will or won't but I wonder if Windows starter is designed to require less power to allow it to run on machines like low power Netbooks.

If you are having problems installing updates, that might explain why you
are also having problems upgrading to Windows 10.  Certain updates must be
installed before you can proceed with the upgrade.  However, you can now
directly install Windows 10 using your Windows 7 product key so you may be
better off simply performing a clean installation of 10.

The set which I have was a little over $3000. and here in Reno I went to Sierra Hearing but i believe it is local only. I would look in the phone book for Hearing centers and call to ask if they carry the Phonak Cros.

I don't have the ringing issue thank goodness but was told that these aids also help reduce tinitis. Might be worth a try. You can try these out so if they don't work for you they are easy to return since they are not made to fit any person's ears.

I have problems with that constant ringing in both ears. I tell people it's like going through life with a crack in your glasses.

Bye for now,

I have heard so many different stories and I am seriously happy for those who report success with new hearing aids.

I have been told with the aid I have, nothing else I wear will improve or
not help the hearing, and this was from two specialist...

My hearing aid is a quontam something lol but don’t remember the exact name.
I have that major ringing in the right ear and like I said severe hearing
loss in the right ear. I use to wish I could see better, hahaha now I give
anything to hear much better. Not perfect hearing but at least hear someone
when talking to me in a crowded room.

I don’t often recommend products unless I am really pleased with them. I
just want to put a little plug in for the Phonak Cros hearing aids. I have
little or no hearing in my right ear because of nerve damage. I wore in-ear
aids for about 7 years and hated them but wore them anyway. Then about a
year and a half ago, I was introduced with the Phonak behind the ear aids.
The one for the right ear is a transmitter and the one on the left is the
receiver. I just cannot say enough good about these aids and how much better
they work than the old ones. I no longer have the feeling that I am going to
scream when in a crowded noisy place. I would never suggest that they
replace normal hearing but they sure come closer than what I experienced
before. I just had them cleaned and adjusted and it is so slick. I put them
on, the tech puts a device around my neck and then he does all the adjusting
on his computer. Fortunately, my hearing in the left ear is still pretty
good and I pray it continues. On top of that, I have been in twice for
adjusting and they do not charge me at all. When I was in Arizona, they
charged for everything.

Re: Windows Update Problem

Carlos

If you are running Windows 7 Starter Edition, you can upgrade to Windows 10 Home Edition.  Yes, Windows 7 Starter Edition is intended to run on lower powered machines, but so is Windows 10 Home Edition since there is no Starter Edition of 10.  Most netbooks running the Starter Edition of 7 should be able to run Windows 10 Home Edition with no problems.

Hi.  On a netbook Toshiba NB520 running Windows 7 Starter and is
freshly installed from its recovery usb Windows Update stands still and
never fetches hotfixes no error message 0% progress, tried to install
Windows 10 on this pc using media creation tool and when it came to the
getting updates screen same behaviour.  I know under the windows
subfolder there is some cash folder maybe needs to be cleaned or what?
How to force Windows update to work?  It seems to be blocked.

Folks, I know this is been discussed before but I'm working with the client and she has not been getting any kind of response from Rumola in changing her email address with them. She tried contacting them to change her email address and she forgot password to her old account, and is unable to login to Question. Does anybody have a phone number for them?
