Matt, I think you're the one to suggest that I get blindsquare, and I
now have it and have already set it up and have added some of my own
special places.
can you suggest anything special that I should set up with the program?

Incidentally, now I have set up the Tyler voice since that's one of the
voices that I especially like.l I find with my hearing difficulties
that i have problems with some of the female speech options, and I'm
more likely to to identify more words if a male voice says it than a
female voice says it. does that make any sense to you at all?
Many thanks,

Re: my IPhone freezes

Matt

Hi, try to take all your apps out of the app switcher and close them out
once a day and reboot your device. This will keep most problems down. It
only takes a minute or two at most if that to do this. Just remember these
smart phones is first of all small computers then phone last . So like any
computer it needs restarting ever so often and with these smart phones
usually more than a desktop computer. I usually do it first thing when I get
up in the morning or right before I go to bed take all things out of the app
switcher and then reboot.

Hi,
thanks for helping me with the IPhone. I hadn't read your message before I
called Apple, and they suggested as you suggested holding the power and home
buttons down and that did it for me. It was really weird, I was in the app
store trying to buy the bsq product when she froze up.
thanks,

Re: Blind square

Matt

Well on the list the Developer is good about announcing a new version or
update and what it all does. But this is on the email list.
The update itself that depends on how you have apps set to update on your
iPhone! Go to settings and iTunes and app store and you will see different
settings in there.

Hi Matt,
You've been really helpful on this, and I did go in to the settings and have
set everything up as bes as I can right now with little experience.
Do they tell you when a new update is available and do you have to go to the
app store to get it or what?
thanks,

Re: Prepaid phone plans

Matt

No you would have to pay the amount of whatever they said it would take to
buy out the contract and it would be due on the next bill maybe at the time
of the contract bought out! You have to see what that price is and what you
will be paying . For example: if it cost 250 buck to buy out the contract
and you have a say year at 70 bucks that is 840 bucks and your other plan
say is 50 bucks you would be a say in a year with that at 600 bucks so the
840 taking away the 600 bucks leaves you at 240 bucks to the good but then
you have to consider the buyout of 250 and you would be in the whole for 10
bucks.but in the long run you would be better off. Now this is just an
example. You want know till you call
BTW: when comparing plans try to compare out the door not just the cost of
the plan. Another words any fees and taxes and so on.
.

Problem is, we've got to get through this Verizon contract. I don't see us
making any changes, which makes the thing start all over again. At the end
of this two years, we can reevaluate.

The iPhone is in a blue Otter Box case. A lady at the grocery store wanted
us to sign up for coupons. I said, we'd have to print them?" She said she
could send to the phone. I said, "he has an iPhone." He said, "you mean this
blue boy here?" He pulled it out and she did whatever had to be done, and
now when the coupons come, he can just show from his phone at the store.
It's called digital coupons.

Bye for now,

Sis Carolyn, you could pay that $70 price for two phones on H2O Wireless as
a prepaid service, no contracts, bring your own phone, GSM only on the AT&T
platform. And if your phones support it, you'll get 4G LTE service to boot.
It's also unlimited talk and text nationwide.

Re: Blind square

Matt

Well, there is some things in settings you could or could not do as they are
personal preface. You really have to just sort of play around with them. It
is a fairly straight forward app. The only thing I really sort of dislike
about it it don't have turn by turn direction inside the app yet! This is
supposed to be coming. Also there is various devices you can get to control
BSQ . there is a remote which most BT remote that will pare with the iPhone
and you can control things on the iPhone will work with BSQ. Also certain
headsets will control BSQ as well. Also some of the wrist speaker bands will
do the same.
I really encourage you to join the BSQ email list to get the most out of the
app. The Developer is very active on the list! So he is there and very
helpful with any questions. This is another benefit of the app as the
Developer is very much active on the email list of his app. Most Developers
is not this active on any list and especially even on a one to one base! I
can just not say enough about how he cares about his cliental !

No; just ask them what you would be charged to break the contract, and figure out whether you think it is worth it. Pam.

Re: Muting Threads

Carlos

My apologies, I missed the rest of your question. The difference is that the Thunderbird "Ignore Thread" option is a mail client specific feature and as it says, you still receive the messages and they are not actually deleted. While the "Mute Thread" option found in each message, is a feature specific to the groups.io service and it prevents you from receiving further messages in the muted thread to begin with.

Subject: [TechTalk] Muting Threads

Good Morning:

Could someone please explain the purpose of mute this thread that's listed in the options for this list along with things like how to subscribe etc. that are found in the message body of list mail?

I'm running Thunderbird 38.7.1 and I believe ignore thread and watch thread were new features introduced in a previous version. Mozilla Help for ignore thread says:

"Ignore Thread

The Ignore Thread feature is especially useful for mailing lists. It lets you skip reading the rest of a conversation you're not really interested in following,
while still being able to keep up with all the other conversations.

To ignore a thread you select Message > Ignore Thread, or simply use the K (for "kill") keyboard shortcut. That will mark all the messages in the selected
conversation as ignored. The ignored messages aren't deleted, but once you come back to the folder they won't be shown in the thread pane (by default).
If there are further replies to the same conversation, these replies won't trigger a new mail notification."

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ignore-threads

Does the group's feature work along the lines of Thunderbird's?

Thank you,

Margaret
