Re: screen readers problem, and video card

I don't know what the problem is.  If you don't require functions that JAWS does that NVDA doesn't have, and a lot of people don't, I would suggest trying NVDA to see if you have the same problems.  You might end up solving your problem and saving money.

Hi every one,

I have a HP desktop that always, since  2014 has been giving some problems with jaws. Jaws 15, later jaws 16,  and now with jaws 17. I already checked that is no additional windows or items popping    up on the screen, I  have the computer free of extra software, the only software installed is windows 10 pro 64 bits, jaws 17 pro, and office 365. This computer always, since we bought it one year and a half ago, has been with this problem. Jaws is not able to read parts  on some Microsoft apps, sometimes jaws lost the cursor, sometimes jaws get stock in a kind of limbo and I have to press alt tab several times until jaws recover the cursor.

I had windows 8.1 pro before, an now windows 10 pro, the same problems, a little bit different. Could it be a video card problem?

The video card is integrated  in the mother board.

Thanks

Hi Joe,

It is probably that you have too much enabled in your start up items and services. This can cause your computer to act just as you have described. Unless you have experience at enabling and disabling these things in msconfig, then I suggest that you call Microsoft Accessibility support at 800-936-5900 for some help in turning off only the things that will not prevent your computer from operating correctly, or some of the software that you want to start, like Jaws, from starting at boot up.

being left alone. Does anyone know what else I can try disabling? Is there
an accessible tool I can use to determine what else other than Vipre might

Re: Question re free baseball radio dot com

Gene

I'll add that since I have no idea how many of the stations linked to have accessibility problems working with their flash or perhaps other players, using something like Tapin radio might be faster and easier.  I just tried one station which was using an inaccessible Flash player.  I found the station using Tapin Radio and was able to listen.

Re: Question re free baseball radio dot com

I looked at the site awhile ago and I did again now.  The site appears to link to radio station sites.  That's all it appears to do.  The site was discussed here months ago.  No one reported any unsavory activity on the site or when following links.  What player are you asked to install?  Most sites that have live streams use Flash.  If you want to try streaming without using Flash, then try something like Tapin Radio and search for the call letters of the stations linked to.

No you would have to pay the amount of whatever they said it would take
to buy out the contract and it would be due on the next bill maybe at the
time of the contract bought out! You have to see what that price is and
what you will be paying . For example: if it cost 250 buck to buy out
the contract and you have a say year at 70 bucks that is 840 bucks and
your other plan say is 50 bucks you would be a say in a year with that at
600 bucks so the
840 taking away the 600 bucks leaves you at 240 bucks to the good but
then you have to consider the buyout of 250 and you would be in the whole
for 10 bucks.but in the long run you would be better off. Now this is
just an example. You want know till you call
BTW: when comparing plans try to compare out the door not just the cost
of the plan. Another words any fees and taxes and so on.

Problem is, we've got to get through this Verizon contract. I don't see
us making any changes, which makes the thing start all over again. At the
end of this two years, we can reevaluate.

The iPhone is in a blue Otter Box case. A lady at the grocery store
wanted us to sign up for coupons. I said, we'd have to print them?" She
said she could send to the phone. I said, "he has an iPhone." He said,
"you mean this blue boy here?" He pulled it out and she did whatever had
to be done, and now when the coupons come, he can just show from his
phone at the store.
It's called digital coupons.

Sis Carolyn, you could pay that $70 price for two phones on H2O Wireless
as a prepaid service, no contracts, bring your own phone, GSM only on the
AT&T platform. And if your phones support it, you'll get 4G LTE service
to boot.
It's also unlimited talk and text nationwide.

Re: Prepaid phone plans

Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc.

Sis Carolyn, if you're on a contract, you're stuck pretty much. But as Matt
explained, you can consider buying out your contract. It may not be worth
the trouble in my view since direct service providers tend to smoke one out
of every penny in the purse. Just quietly wait until your contract expires
and then plan on moving on.

During the course of your contract, be sure you can have your phone
unlocked. Legally speaking, in the United States, phone locking is no
longer allowed. However, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, TMobile all find
interesting ways around this prohibition. Even though the U.S. has the best
and perhaps the cheapest telephone service in the world, the fact that
phones are locked to specific providers DOES MAKE our dear native land lag
behind his allies worldwide. For example, we were one of the last countries
to embrace GSM technology and even at that, the implementation is still
somewhat lacking.

To avoid contracts, I, as an individual always buy my phones unlocked! This
saves me from having to pay nearly $1,000 or more to a service provider over
a two-year contract period.

It should be borne in mind that prepaid phone plans DO NOT work outside the
United States and possibly Canada! For example, if I take a trip to Cuba or
Bahamas tomorrow morning, I won't have any service upon arrival there.
There are two ways to get around this: First, I can get a regular service
plan with a provider and if I am gone for 30 days or less, I can cancel upon
return; second, I just buy a GSM SIM Card wherever I find myself use it
whilst in that country and then throw it away on my way out. I almost
always choose the latter especially when making trouble in Europe or another
continent of interest.

Sincerely,
Olusegun

Re: my IPhone freezes

Matt

Hi, try to take all your apps out of the app switcher and close them out
once a day and reboot your device. This will keep most problems down. It
only takes a minute or two at most if that to do this. Just remember these
smart phones is first of all small computers then phone last . So like any
computer it needs restarting ever so often and with these smart phones
usually more than a desktop computer. I usually do it first thing when I get
up in the morning or right before I go to bed take all things out of the app
switcher and then reboot.

Re: Blind square

Well on the list the Developer is good about announcing a new version or
update and what it all does. But this is on the email list.
The update itself that depends on how you have apps set to update on your
iPhone! Go to settings and iTunes and app store and you will see different
settings in there.
