Carlos,

Those rules sound very reasonable. I am glad to be a part of this list everyone is so nice and helpful and knowledgeable. I have learned a lot and I look forward to learning a lot more. Have a great night.

1. Discussions , questions, and articles about all types of technology are allowed.

2. Discussion of illegal activities is not allowed.  If you are not sure if a particular subject qualifies as illegal, feel free to ask me in a private message.

3. Try to be civilized.

4. Too many rules become restrictive and cramp my style so just use common sense.

I, for one, am willing to trust in Carlos's discretion. On a very small scale, I know how to manage a group. I have wanted to step down, but I'm told that my discretion help keeps everyone on track. If I can do that, I feel very confident that Carlos can.

I admire the fact that you created a new list. I am a pro lurker so I have more experience with reading than responding so have a good idea of how you handle things. I just hope that when it comes time to enforce some sort of rule that it is handled in a way that doesn't pulsate with a vibe of "1984" or make me feel like I am in school again and someone was caught talking during class. I understand there needs to be rules, but how they are enforced is handled can piss off people. I'm not talking about those that can find anything in almost everything to get mad about, I'm sure people understand what I'm saying there. Speaking from experience it can be tough going from a peon position to one of management and not look like you are being a bully or betraying the people who think of you as a friend. I hope that line isn't too hard to achieve here. Moderating anything can be hard, dealing with a bunch of different people with different ideas about how things should be and not looking like a total dictator or asshole can be hard too.

Hello Jessica,
The emphasis of the list is that very little which is tech related is off topic.  So no your question is most certainly not off topic.

Hi,
Did they really add ccandy crush into windows 10? I don't like the game either, but saw the game referenced in your article, so figured I would ask.

I hope this is not off-topic, for the question I asked.
Thanks,

Hi Melissa,
All I can say is that I will try my best to respond in a fair and reasonable manner without being antagonistic. As it says in the list description, I am neither a dictator or a lawyer so I think I can avoid micro managing or crossing the line into being a bully.

Hmmm, when I first set Cortana up, you just had to press a couple buttons labeled next. You would have to look for something called Try Cortana. When set up, she's awesome.

Hi,
Cortana requires Microsoft Account (cannot be used in local accounts, although some Windows Insiders asked Microsoft for this possibility).
Cheers,
Joseph

Does this mean one can't use Cortana without a Microsoft account? I don't believe I have one.

Hi,

To whoever was trying to set up Cortana:

Make sure you are:

·Using Windows 10.

·Logged in via Microsoft Account.

The steps are:

1.Select “Try Cortana”.

2.When asked to sign into your Microsoft Account, log int using your ID
and password.

3.You’ll be greeted with a few settings, including enabling Cortana,
letting Cortana use your location, letting Cortana respond when you say
“Hey Cortana” and so on.

4.Once set up, with a microphone connected, press Windows+C to bring up
Cortana.

Cheers,

Joseph

I see that you have a skype, if you would be kind enough and if you are
willing to assist via skype, my skype name is kimsan224.

However, with today being my last day of summer break, and I return to
work tomorrow, my lil ones go back to school tomorrow, if you are
willing to help via skype, lets schedule something.

Oh no, ... Hmmm, I wish I could figure it out. What about more tabs?
GOsh, I set this up after I upgraded so I have no real memory of the
steps. Hmmm, let me see if I can get a comprehensive step by step thing
on the web that would tell you where to go to set up the Cortana. Or is
there any Cortana freaks out there who might be able to help?
Sorry ... I'm lost, my brain isn't functioning either, just got done
watching Remember the Titans. Good film.

Firefox, Crashing Flash And Inquiry About Alternatives

Ron Canazzi

Hi Group,

Ever since Flash began updating with version 15, I have been having a lot of issues with the Flash plug-in on Firefox. It seems to crash about 30 or 40% of the time. I know some people are using the HTML 5 player or a plug in that can play some flash sites.

How do I get this player/plug-in and will it play all flash content on the web?

Hi Carlos,
I'm sorry to hear what happened to you on the blintech list. Although, I'm
pleased that you created this new list! I wish you lots of luck! I'm proud
to be a member of your list! As for blindtech, you were a great asset to
that list, and I'm sure you will be missed from there, but that is their
loss!
Regards,
Janet
