Yes, and if you do as I do in many instances, instead of opening File Explorer and navigating via that method, I will deselect the desktop icons, right click the desktop, and then pick shortcut from "new" in the context menu. Since I usually do not know the path to the file, I simply select browse to find it and use the tree view to do so. Nothing more than personal preference. Theare probably 3 or 4 different ways to skin this particular cat.

If Bill is using the browse function to locate the executable file to send a shortcut to the desktop, it is possible that the folder which contains this file has the "Closed/Open" access by using the left and right arrow keys. If you open the folder by pressing the right arrow key, most single files will not appear in this view. You must first press the space bar to ensure that the folder is in focus, then tab to open the contents of the folder. In this view, you will see all files and folders within the folder. Scroll down to the executable file, press the Applications key and select either "Create Shortcut" or "Send To" to get your shortcut back onto the desktop.

I think the poster might satisfy others by placing a blank line between the
original post and his input. As is, with the amount of messages one must
read on a daily basis, its lots of work for the reader to have to sort out
what information came first. Also, deleting of the less than greater than
signs can help. Once a reader comes across the first couple of less than
greater than signs, he or she will immediately conclude it is a top posted
message and immediately delete it. This means the poster has just wasted his
or her time composing the message since the message will be immediately
deleted.

Those who do not include the original message below their response are
likely wasting their time too since a single message does not include any
context whatsoever, so it appears as though she is posting something totally
random and their message is subsequently deleted.

There was a change made between Word 2003 and all prior (which you’re probably used to), and Word 2007. The spacing between lines is now 1.15, where it used to be 1.0; and the 1.15 spacing allows for there to be no blank line needed to show paragraphs. (That’s a brief summary.)
 
Peruse the article - the link to which I’m going to give below. It contains steps to change back to 2003 line spacing; or, if necessary, revert from that to 2007 line spacing.
 
 
(As usual; if the links wraps over two lines, copy/paste it into your browser’s Address Bar, inspect it and extract blank spaces if any there, then go.
 
It is also a refresher for anybody else interested in altering the default line spacing arrangements now existing in Word.

Well, the strange thing is that even if I do a ctrl-1 at the beginning of the document and jaws says single line, when I type a document and I come on line 30 it says page 2 and if I print I get 2 pages. This puzzles me and I long for my old trusted word perfect 5.1 in the days of DOS.

It sounds like they are suggesting to try writing the image to a USB drive.  The second part, burning a backup to DVD from the USB drive afterwards, probably wouldn't make much sense.  Although you might want to ask for further clarification since they say quote unquote, ""run through the items here first", but it is not clear to which items they are referring.  Perhaps they intended to provide a link and forgot to include it by mistake.

It may not have to do with the DVD drive itself. Run through the items here first. If you have a USB drive to test with that be easier.

Also, you could try updating the drives firmware, but since you have disc validate enabled and that passed and byte-for-byte failed, would suggest something other than the drive/discs.

Seriously though, I'm not sure if I have much of an opinion about this
issue one way or the other. I personally don't have a problem
determining where Rob's posts begin, but that is most likely because
I've usually just finished reading the message to which he is
replying. I suppose technically it could be considered bottom
posting, but this practice is common on forums and it is always
referred to as quoting. In fact, most forum software has a link or
button associated with each post specifically for quoting.

Hi Mike,
It sounds like they are suggesting to try writing the image to a USB drive.  The second part, burning a backup to DVD from the USB drive afterwards, probably wouldn't make much sense.  Although you might want to ask for further clarification since they say quote unquote, ""run through the items here first", but it is not clear to which items they are referring.  Perhaps they intended to provide a link and forgot to include it by mistake.

The whole point of quoting is to only reference the text in the message that
is most relevant to your reply, not the entire message.

Seriously though, I'm not sure if I have much of an opinion about this
issue one way or the other. I personally don't have a problem
determining where Rob's posts begin, but that is most likely because
I've usually just finished reading the message to which he is
replying. I suppose technically it could be considered bottom
posting, but this practice is common on forums and it is always
referred to as quoting. In fact, most forum software has a link or
button associated with each post specifically for quoting.
