Hi Byron,

I was hoping to be able to rip it into my ITunes library as I was able to before. But, Cdex is definitely a viable option.

Each time I insert a cd into the drive, I get an error message that Windows 10 makes; at least I assume that there is some kind of error message.

How do you configure everything in order to rip? I have gone through the steps in Media Player to enable ripping. but it's not working.

Thanks for any help.

I am just getting some type of audible message through Windows10 that I may have assumed was an error message. Jaws is not saying what the message is.

If nothing else will work, I'll use Cdex. Thanks.

I don't, hence I know. Apparently, in IOS8, it worked without hints, but ever since I remember, across 9, you need hints to have them read. But, it might be like that since 6, as I say, I haven't used anything before 9.

Hi,
You're misunderstanding me. Know how speech says something like "Extras
folder, 6 apps. Double tap to open." You can turn off the a?no announcement
of double tap to open, which is essentially the voice over hint. However,
there is a bug, where if you do that, the email previews won't be read.

Well no but if you view your mail by thread then there is not
much problem.
You just open the thread and go to the bottom of it and start
from the
bottom up. For example there is thread talking about windows
update and
there is 10 messages in that thread. Just double tap on the
thread called
windows update then this will open that thread it will be from
newest to
oldest and you just flip left to right to get to the bottom or
you can do a
three finger flip up from the bottom of the screen and it will
take you to
the bottom of the thread or you can do touch by explore. Once
you are at
the bottom then you can start reading from the bottom up and you
will be in
oldest to newest.
Now I myself read from newest to oldest and I have preview turn
on for mail
where it reads the first 5 lines without even open the message in
the
thread. For example I open the thread called windows update and
then I just
flick left to right and as I land on the message stop and pause
and it will
read the first 5 lines of it and I can tell if I want to open it
up to read
more or just flick up and choose delete or whatever action I
want. I have
the same thing set up on my PC preview messages without opening
them. I
don't know but maybe in IOS 10 they might have some more choices.
On how you
view your thread.

Hello Everyone:

That's right! If you are an Androidean, and you'd like to have a fully
licensed copy of KNFB Reader with no strings attached on your smartphone or
Android tablet device, you can now do so for $19.99 for a limited time. You
take 80% off the original cost of $100!

To take advantage of this great from an OS that's not supposed to be
accessible for blind users, visit the Playstore from your device, search for
and install the KNFB Reader, then activate it for $19.99! You can pay for
the activation using a credit or debit card; if you don't desire to use any
of these, purchase a Google Gift Card from Walmart or some other store and
use that instead. For a blindness-related software to only cost $19.99, the
news must be spread far and wide and, if need be, before the grave of the
dead blind!

Again, you must have an Android device to take advantage of this great
offer! Thanks to Google for negotiating this deal for blind Androideans!
This offer is for a limited time, but as of today July 4, 2016, it's still
available.

Subject: [TechTalk] Where is the gmail settings menu?

I want to add my gmail account to windows live mail 2012. My directions say to log onto mail.google.com, click a gear icon, select settings and select either enable emap or enable pop3. I have mail.google.com set to basic html view as I will not run java script in any of my browsers.
I don셳 see a settings button or link which opens a menu to enable these services. Could someone tell me where it is?

Thanks very much,
George

Re: guide dog question?

Joe

I don't know about the age restrictions for schools across the pond. I know people here in the States have gotten guide dogs at seventeen. My only concern for anyone that young is the maturity factor. Are they responsible enough to handle a guide dog? Will they be capable of restricting access to the dog when being around peers equally that young? Are they sufficiently capable of using the white cane for those times when the dog cannot work? If your niece ticks off those checkboxes and her family feels comfortable, then she should consider it. Fifteen feels far too young to me, but that's based on nothing more than generalization and assumption. Regardless, having worked a guide dog now for eight and a half years, it can be a great means of getting around but requires a lot of work to maintain. It took me three years after my first one passed away to talk myself into getting another one.

I hope that's of some help,

Joe

Subject: [TechTalk] guide dog question?

hi guys, Hope this is not a silly question.
I have a 15 year old niece, and we are considering applying for her to have guide dog training.
The question is: Would she be too young at 15 years of age to apply for a guide dog in the UK?

No, you would click on the
"Messages"
link and then type your search term.

Hi,
Aww that’s a shame. So once I get to the group’s home page I click on feeds then to get to the search field? then type my search term is that correct?
Thanks for teaching me something new.

I don't believe groups.io allows for complex searches in the archives at this point.  If you type keywords in the search field, it will search through both the subject and message body.  Although on the list of results you can sort messages by date or relevance.

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could kindly show me how to do this efficiently as so far it’s eluding me.  For instance if one wanted to search for a particular message or thread by subject or author how does one do it once at the groups.io page for your group?
thanks for enlightening me and by extension others who might also have wondered about such.

Re: Where is the gmail settings menu?

Robin Frost

Hi,
I was able to locate it in standard view but found that JFW wouldn’t execute it in IE11 but could in Firefox go know. It’s also interesting to note that executing it in standard view seems to yield more options than when in basic html view.
At least that was my experience. If I’m wrong about this last point I’m sure someone will teach us all something new (smile).

The gear icon is the “settings” link.

Make sure you’re in html view to locate that. I couldn’t find that in the standard view.

I got confused about that to until one of my kids clicked it and I heard my screen reader say settings.
