Hi Carlos,
SMILE Thanks so much for the suggestion and instructions for the
program. You must know I need that kind of thing sometimes. Do you know
how well this works with NVDA, which is my preferred screen reader as
JAWS is so slow? Also, how likely is it for me to get spyware/adware
using this program as when we get rid of this beast 360 Total Security I
got from using a free program, I want to try to avoid getting something
else like it? Thanks so much.

Brief usage instructions:

1. Press Control+O to add specific files to the list or Control+F to add
an entire folder.
2. Select the output settings.
3. Select the output directory or use the default setting which is to
use the source directories.
4. Press Control+E to convert the files.
Note, you can also find all of these options on the context menu when
the list has focus by pressing the Applications key.

Hi,
I used to use a wonderful program called free video to mp3 converter
to get rid of the video from files and just make it .mp3, but somehow
acquired this beast of 360 Total Security from an update to the
program or something. The program's from DVD Video Soft and is free.
I'm not looking for free, just any recommendations of programs that
will let me do this that are accessible. I'm totally blind and use
Windows 10 with NVDA, but I do have the latest version of JAWS if it's
needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.

Hi.

It sort of works with jaws and nvda.

There are certain things that you can't do very easily like creating joins.

I haven't played with it and window eyes. I also have never heard of any
accessibility tutorials for it.

Iso for Windows10 setup on Diskonkey

Moty Azrad

Dear all,

I used media creation tool and created Iso setup for Windows10 OS, need it to put it on another machine that its Win10 OS had been damaged seriously.
My questions:
1  When I finish the download from the media creation tool to the Usb diskonkey, I get soon the option to burn it by nero or by another dvd burner but I skiped it and went directly to finish button.
When I put this diskonkey on the damaged machine, I get errors, each time another error. Most of the errors about the path of the installation file that is not corrct according to this error message.
What can I do to continue in order to complete the process of the setup.
I think I will go on a clean install when I get that option.
2  in the media creation tool, you have the option, upgrade now or use it for another machine, and I choosed this one for another machine and after that, I have the options:
to create it on a usb flah drive or iso.
Can someone explain what happens if I choose the flah usb drive and which extention of file, I get there?

thanks much for any help.

Hello!

On one of my upgraded machines I still have to press right arrow/left arrow instead of up and down in the first screen in settings that is after pressing tab if I don't want to deal with typing in search, how can I change this behavior to press up and down like in the other machine?

Thanks.

AVG question

Brian Zolo <bzolo@...>

Good evening, listers, Brian Zolo here on a hot and humid day in Gahanna, Ohio, grin!  I’m assisting a friend of mine who is using avg free and all of a sudden she’s being asked for a license key.  What’s the best solution to fix this?  Should we uninstall avg free and reinstall?  I remember one of our listers having this issue a while back and had a solution but I’m having a senior moment and don’t remember how the problem was resolved.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Really enjoy the list and all the great discussions.  BZ!

Re: Deleting all messages and folders in WLM

OK, thanks for the tip about exporting the account.  Sounds like a major time saver.

I only have one account.  I checked the check box to export all folders.  That may have been my mistake because I wound up with all of the storage folders even though they were turned off.  I had 3 of several things including the draft, sent, out, junk, etc. folders.

I used the info discussed by you and Flor to delete all folders on the target machine and I am currently importing a new export file.  This time, I did not choose the all folders check box.  I went through around 70 folders andd choose only the ones that I wanted.  Since this involves around 120,000, messages, around 1.72 GB, it will be several hours before I get to see the results of this attempt because I am stuck using USB 2.0 on one machine.

Next, I hope to find out how to export and import contacts.  Then, if possible, do the same with message rules.

Thanks for your advice,

James

The account is for exporting the account information needed to set up your account.  I would strongly suggest exporting your account information and keeping the file somewhere.  If you ever have to set up your account again, either on that machine or another machine, you will save time and inconvenience by importing it.  I'm not sure if your password is saved so you may have to keep track of that separately.  However, I've saved myself annoyance and time by keeping my export account file for use if needed.

I'm not sure how you exported mail and why it created so many accounts.  What are you describing?  If you are saying that you have two or three accounts and each one has it's own inbox, that's the way accounts are on your original machine.  But if you are trying to use something like all mail and you don't see it, you may have to turn that folder on in your program.  I'd have to look at that version of the program to see how.  Meantime, if you explain more about what is occurring, you may get more targeted help.

Hi Gene and Flor,

Your discussion has succeeded in showing me how to delete the folders that I created.

What I am trying to do here is just a little experimenting.  I have two computers grabbing my email so I won’t be loosing messages.  Now, I want to learn a little about exporting and importing from WLM on one machine to my new laptop using WLM on both machines.

My first attempt imported all of my folders but I wasn’t happy with the results.  After importing to laptop, I had a whole lot of extra folders that I now have to arrow through.  Something like 3 each on the outbox, sent messages folder, the drafts folder etc.

I imported in to an empty WLM that contained no messages or folders.  I was hoping that the imported messages and folders would look the same on the new machine.  But, I got a mess of folders.  Too much junk to try to arrow through.

I wonder if I should have just exported, and then imported the account instead of just email?  What would have happened if I had tried the accounts selection?  Is it even possible to move all emails and folders to an empty WLM and have every thing look the way it did on the original machine?

Hope I am making some kind of sense here,

I'm not at all sure that is correct.  But whether it is or not, you could delete the folders and then delete all messages in the inbox.  also, I don't know what you intend to do after you delete all messages.  Are you going to continue to use the program?  If not, you can simply delete any accounts and all messages in the accounts will be deleted.  Of course, if you are using storage folders, you will have to delete those separately.

You would just delete your own created folders individually. But, that won’t delete the messages ‘in’ them. For that, you’d need to delete the messages in such a folder first.

Folders are just like wrappers or covers in this case. Your messages not deleted from them first, would then go to your Inbox, All Emails,  etc.

To delete all emails in WLM: There’s a folder near the top of the tree view, above the Inbox, in Quikck Views about three or four folders down from the very top, called All Emails. Go into the list view of that folder. Select All and Delete. Depending on how many emails you’ve got, this deletion could take some time, so go do something else if you’ve a lot of emails to delete.

Ok. The messages from those created folders when deleted will go to Deleted Items, or perhaps even be deleted entirely if shift+del keys are used. I was rather thinking of the ‘all emails’ scenario, but stretching it a little.

Thanks.  I thingk I will just delete small chunks at a time so WLM doesn’t crash.

How do I delete all of the folders that I created?

James,
To delete all emails in WLM: There’s a folder near the top of the tree view, above the Inbox, in Quikck Views about three or four folders down from the very top, called All Emails. Go into the list view of that folder. Select All and Delete. Depending on how many emails you’ve got, this deletion could take some time, so go do something else if you’ve a lot of emails to delete.

Hi all,

Can any one tell me how to delete all messages and folders in WLM with out having to go through each folder and manually do the deleting?

Thanks,

I once deleted all unread emails (from the folder of that name, in the tree view of folders that I referred to), from my laptop. The first go-round, it didn’t delete them all before it stopped, but did a fair few. That took 45 minutes or more, as there were a lot! So, it being late, before I went to bed I set to deleting the remainder, several thousand messages, and let it do its thing. When I got up again after about two hours, they were all gone. My read messages remained intact. Mission achieved.
