When the bluetooth adapter is plugged in, the bluetooth icon should appear in the system tray.

Subject: [TechTalk] a question regarding USB dongles

I have three dongles that I don't remember which is which. I had them
seperated, but the fun thing of a sighted person "organizing" things
mixed them up for me.
I know one has to be the USB dongle for my wireless mouse, that I
don't use anymore.
Another has to be the USB dongle that I purchased to add bluetooth to
my computer.
The other ... I have nfi what it is for.

I plugged each one in and check the device manager, one says 2.6 GHZ,
another says lan wireless, and I forgot what the other said. I believe
it had a number that I googled which didn't help me much.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I identify these dongles?

Thanks much,
melissa

This will index attached NTFS volumes a lot faster and lighter than the included windows indexing service. And it offers regex serches, whole word, phrases, and wildcards. All kinds of stuff.

You can use wild cards to find specific types of files in the Explorer search box.  For example, you could type
*.txt
to search only for text files with the .txt extension.

If you are searching for files only on your computer, from Windows 7 on, it is better to use the search in Windows Explorer itself instead of the start menu search.  You can avoid the extraneous results that way.  I don't know if the same interface is used in Windows 10 for searching using Windows Explorer so I'll let others discuss that.

Hi,

I normally use the search on the start menu when searching.  However, so many different file types show up when doing that.  My question is when searching, I just want documents to show up and not web results, mp3’s etc.  Older OS’s if memory serves, windows key f and function key 3, I would be able to search for documents only, but the above keystrokes no longer work.  How can I search and only documents show up in the results?

Thanks.

I am passing on a Toshiba laptop to a friend whose old computer is on its last legs.
I've taken off programs like Skype and Humanware.
My question is this:
I think the email I was using on the laptop was Windows Live Mail or whatever came with the Windows 7.   When she accesses the email, will my mail show up?  If so, How do I delete my account from the laptop before sending the laptop on its way?
