Re: a three part question, please help

I'm not sure I've ever seen it discussed in regard to Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail but I seem to recall trying it in Windows Live Mail and seeing that it worked.  My memory may be wrong because this was awhile ago and I almost never send attachments so I was just trying the method out of curiosity. But my point is that, whatever Windows e-mail program you are using, try it instead of assuming whether it will work or not.

The copy/paste method does not work with all clients.  I believe it primarily works with Outlook.  I don't know about Thunderbird, but I'm pretty sure it does not work with Windows Live Mail or any other client based on Outlook Express.

1.

I’m not sure of imogies but emoticons, I don’t have them all memorized but for the basic ones like a smiling face it’s shift 0 and the sad face is shift 9.

2.

The simplest way to attach a file in an email is to highlight the document, copy it and then when your email is open, paste it and it will be attached. People will ask you which email program you are using but the copy and paste method seems to work for any email program.

3.

Itunes, lol. It’ss one of those things that I can talk someone through it but typing it out gives me pains.

Second: Is there a quicker way to make attachments? Using the message tab. I have instructions for the long way and it didn’t work. I have a windows 7 64 bit computer. I need step by step instructions, please.

Third: How can I use Itunes with another screen reader? I have JAWS 13 and it is no longer supported so what do I do? I want to be able to contue using Itunes but it doesn’t talk when I go in to it. It plays mp3’s but doesn’t tell me what’s on the main page.

Please disreguard number 2.  Another way, if your email is set as the default is to put focus on the document, press shift f 10 or your applications key, arrow down to the sendto submenu, right arrow, then down arrow to mail recipient and press enter. Your email program should open up and place you in the to field and the file will be attached.

Re: 2 Jaws 17 questions

I would think JAWS key z would turn forms mode on and off.  That has been the command for a long time and I don't see why it would change.  But you will hear virtual cursor off or virtual cursor on as you toggle it. You won't hear forms mode on or off.

The command, which again, I doubt has changed, is JAWS key Windows key c if you want to append more than one item to the clipboard.

This, too, has been the command for quite some time.

I have 1 of the watches you're talking about, &I think the watch below might be the 1.  I bought mine many years ago so, I can't be sure but, from reading the on-line manual it sure sounds like it.  Doing a search for the SKU number will probably be the fastest way to find it.

Hi, Carlos,

The watch you pointed to is close to the one I asked about. The one you mentioned has just two buttons. The one I'm discussing has four.

Somebody gave me this one. It looks great but up to now it has not updated and another one has. Mine is 3 seconds fast, and I've noticed that a watch will update more often if it's slow.

I see no connection between your subject line and your message.  You might get more responses if you send it again with an appropriate subject line.  Some people skip messages based solely on the subject line.

I'm not sure what you did but to modify the JAWS dictionary, if you are using the desktop layout, use the command JAWS key d to open the menu.  Did you modify the default dictionary or the Microsoft Word dictionary.  Be sure you are in the same dictionary you modified.  If you modified the microsoft word dictionary, open the dictionary with JAWS key d while you are in the Microsoft Word Window.  If you want to be in the default dictionary, after you open the dictionary, issue the command control shift d.  I don't know if you need more instructions.  if you do, ask here.

Re: where can I find this particular watch

Joe Giovanelli

I don't own it myself, but is it perhaps this one?
http://www.braillebookstore.com/Atomic-Talking-Watch.1
Note that there is a
"Listen to this Product"
link on the page. I generally don't like wrist watches, but I book marked
this one some time ago since it sounded interesting.

Hello,

Most of the time I can do a bit of research and find the thing I'm after.
Well, not this time.

I am familiar with most of the Reizen watches. This o ne isn't one of
them, at least I don 't think so.

On its back is written:
DC04/16

On its face it marked:
TALKIN ATOMIC.

Yes, that's what is written. I didn't mistype it.

The voice is male, perhaps British or perhaps slightly Germanic. This
especially when going through the Germany time zone.

I'm hoping someone here has seen this radio controlled timepiece.

Request Comparrison: Bookport Plus, Victor Reader Stream, Any Other Specialized Reading Device For The Blind

Ron Canazzi

Hi Group,

I purchased a Victor Reader Stream Second Generation in February of 2016. I like it a lot. I am wondering how it compares to the Bookport Plus, Amazon Echo and any others anyone likes or dislikes.

I am a bit concerned about the Victor Reaeder Stream's durability. How would the other players compare with respect to durability. I see Bookport Plus does not support audible books.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Setting correct time on computer

It is worth pointing out that you can usually also find Control Panel items by typing in the
"Start"
menu search field.  For example, if you were to type
time
in to the search field you would find the same item.

Just open the

"Run"

dialog by pressing Windows key+R and type

timedate.cpl

followed by Enter.

Subject: [TechTalk] Setting correct time on computer

Hello Everyone,

A couple of days ago I took my laptop to a family member’s house.  I did not use the wifi and was just reading my e-mails.  When I got back home and hooked my laptop back up, I noticed that the time is one hour ahead.  The date is correct.  I don’t know how the time was changed, and I do not know how to set the time back to the correct time.  If any of you can tell me how to do this, I would really appreciate it.  Thank you.

Veronica
