BCC equals Blind Carbon Copy. As such, when all others listed therein
receive your message, it is generally tagged as "UNDISCLOSED RECIPIENT".
The BCC line is used if you wish to send to multiple recipients without
letting the original recipient know what you are doing.

Therefore, if you type an adress in the BCC line for purposes of retrieving
an E-mail address from your contact list, you should, if you don't want mail
sent as BCC, go back and delete whatever name you typed in that line.

Some mailing lists discourage the use of the BCC line in part because it
screws up a thing or two. If I get mail that says "UNDISCLOSED RECIPIENT"
just because my address was typed in the BCC line, I typically delete such
E-mail and never botehr reading it.

Oh well, hopefully I shared info that makes some sense; I'll let others dig
in and straighten me out if I have goofed beyond repairs!

Hi Lisa,
In the state of Il, it doesn't take all that long to have a case open. Maybe some years ago it did. Most of the rehab assistance in the state of Il is in home services such as cleaning house, washing clothes, cooking etc. They come to your house and give mobility training around your area. They have even bought people computers to help them live independently, and brought it to their house, and even hooked it up for them. If the state of Il buys software for a computer, they also will bring it to the house and install it. Maybe things have changed as they usually do. I don't necessarily agree with the way the department of rehab in the state of Il is, but I don't have any controll over that. I very seldom ever use their services, but there have been times I did need for them to open a case in order for me to get the services I was rightfully entitled to.
I do agree with Veronica maybe it has something to do with the rehab counsler who is assigned to your case. Although, from my understanding, a person receiving rehab services and who is not happy with their current rehab counsler, can request a different counsler.
I think it is sad that someone with a disability can't even get mobility training unless it has something to do with work or school. I think you should come to the other side of the state! Smile! Just wanted to clairify.

How long does it take to open a case, though? In IL it takes months to do this and you won't get very much one on one assistance in your home environment unless you travel to the other end of the state for residential training.

Gene,

Referring to the email I sent out, no this is not related to my work, but it
is related to living independently. The department of rehab where I live
does not only serve people who are a student or who are employed. Blind
people do live independently, and you should know this yourself. I can
schedule an appointment with a tech volunteer to meet at their office, and
learn about a computer or an iPhone. This service is free. If I need more
extensive training, the department of rehab will open my case as they would
do for anyone because this is the service they provide. It is called
independent living skills. Where the computer comes in is: people do need a
computer to shop online, pay bills online, manage accounts online and other
business accounts online, communicate through email, fill out forms online,
check personal status online, refill meds online, look up important and
personal info online, schedule appointments online, schedule deliveries
online, read mail and etc. It is the same as rehab providing mobility
lessons, and not only if the person is a student or employed.

This is very understandable!

Janet

Hi Carolyn,
I just realized I think I must be fortunate because where I live, I can
call blind techy volunteers for an appointment who will help me to learn
what I might want to learn on the computer or iPhone. If I need more tech
help, I can call the department of rehab, and they will open a case for me
to go to get more extensive computer training.

That’s not what happens in the real world. When you are a client, the state
is paying the agency to train you and do all they are supposedly supposed
to. When you are no longer a client, there is no money coming there way
concerning you. So, they couldn’t care less! Pam.

I strongly disagree. A blindness rehab agency should go out of its way to
help a blind computer user who requests technical assistance, even if he is
not a client. I wouldn’t expect their technology specialist to visit my
home or spend a lot of time over the phone trying to resolve my problem.
But it is not unreasonable for them to at least recommend a reputable local
service technician who is familiar with screen reader software and other
issues relevant to blind computer users. After all, if you can’t get help
from a blindness agency, where else can you turn?

trainers in your area, dad have interest in maybe helping fix your problems.
Any of the services that I've mentioned above Will cost but very well worth
it in the end. If you don't know how to find a good blemish related trainer
in your area, I would looking contacting your local dollars office.. offers
anything through it's office.

If you drink milk or use dairy products and live in the designated states, you can get a $45 settlement check from the milk producers, follow the link and fill it out.   It was a little difficult checking the boxes with Jaws 17 and Windows 8.1 but after a few tries, it worked on all the checkboxes.

Hope this is OK to post.

I have to use the main site to sign in off my pc. I liked the mobile site more. Has anyone noticed this with amazon? Thanks, Heather

JAWS Not Starting At The Windows Log-in Screen, A Possible Fix

Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>

Hi All,

Note: The steps below were performed running Windows 7 & all JAWS versions.
For those of you that have Jaws set to start at the Windows log-in screen, but it doesn't, this might work for you.  I looked in, msconfig, & found that JAWS Freedom Scientific wasn't at the top of the list on the Start-up Page / Tab, so this is what I did.
1. Press, Windows key + R, to open the run dialog.
2. Type, *msconfig*, without the stars, & press enter.
3. Press, control + tab, until you get to the, Start-up Page / Tab.
4. I arrowed down the list, & unchecked any items above, JAWS Freedom Scientific, on the Start-up Page / Tab.
Note: Only uncheck the items / programs above JAWS Freedom Scientific, & nothing else.  Pay close attention to what you uncheck because you are going to recheck these items / programs shortly.
5. Tab to the, Okay, button, press the spacebar, & tab 1 time to, Restart, & press enter to restart your computer.
6. Once your computer is booted up repeat steps 1 thru 3, & you will notice that JAWS Freedom Scientific is now at the top of the list.
7. Now, arrow down the list of items / programs on the Start-up Page / Tab, check the items / programs that you unchecked previously, & repeat step #5.
Now Jaws should start on the Windows log-in screen when your computer starts.  I did the above steps on 4 different computers, both desktop & lattop, &I'm not going to say it works everytime, but it sure works most of the time, which I can say is a damn site better than before I followed the above steps.
Take care.
Mike

bc line question

Sugar

Hi all
Let's say I sent an e mail to someone. I also could not remember an address
so I typed the name on the bc line just to get the address since I have my e
mail set up to finish the address once it starts and then I sent it off,
forgetting that I still had that address on the bc line
Is there a way to confirm if that addy on the bc line was deleted or not?
So my question is how can I check if there was something sent to the addy on
the bc line?
I went to the sent folder and the only addy I read was the "to" line
Does this mean that mothing was sent to the addy on the bc Line?
Thanks
Sugar

Re: windows 8 shell with a desktop like xp?

Chris G <jedikent@...>

Try classic start as classic shell has been discontinued:
http://www.ninite.com/classicstart

The desktop should be the same, it is the start screen you want to replace.

He hadn't told anyone on the list he was at the hospital because he hasn't had access to a computer. I will let him discuss what happened when he gets out of he wants to share. He is doing a little better though.

out, but I didn't remember that he had been
admitted to the hospital.  What
