Hi all
I want to do a system restore to the date December
20, 2016
I typed in system restore and it will only give me the date January 21, 2017
I don't know how to change the date.
I use Jaws 14
Windows 7
Office 2010
This was the safest date I can remember to when facebook was giving me my
notifications.
Thanks

Classic Shell has not been discontinued. The last version was released not long ago. Although it is no longer open source, The homepage is here.

Try classic start as classic shell has been discontinued:
http://www.ninite.com/classicstart

The desktop should be the same, it is the start screen you want to replace.

Re: Those Amazon Devices

Hi Zachary and thanks for the reply.

Wonder if you need that tablet to use the dot or can it be stand alone? Does it respond to voice commands and does it access Siri or someone like her? Is there a text manual I can download from, maybe, amazon? Maybe someone has done a tutorial, huh? If possible, I would use it like I do the stream; connected to the stereo or computer speakers to enhance the sound? Appreciate your thoughts.

Hello Howard,
I own an Amazon Echo Dot and I also own an Amazon Fire HD 7 tablet. The Dot is pretty nice, it's easy to connect to Wifi. I used my tablet to connect it, (though you can download the app from the Google Play Store or Appstore as well). It did take me a few attempts to set up the Dot, but in the end, I was very successful. I love the Dot so much! It's a very cheap device, costing at around $50, U.S. It can play Pandora, Spotify, Tune In, audiobooks, and so much more. I haven't used all of the features, but from what I used of it, I was pretty impressed. You can also enable different skills for your Amazon Echo Dot, there are thousands of them, I only have about fifteen or twenty of them enabled. They have different games, they have some quote stuff, news, just about anything you can imagine. Only part I don't like about the Dot, I can't play YouTube videos on it, I really hope that Amazon implements that some day in a newer skill or release. I just think it would be extremely neat to just voice command it and tell it to play a certain video by a certain artist on YouTube. I also cannot have it read my emails, which kind of sucks, but it doesn't turn me off from it. Although, to be quite honest, I haven't used it in almost a month, but I got it for Christmas. Sorry this email was long, but I thought I ought to give you everything I know about it.
Thanks,
Zachary Morris

Is anyone using one of those amazon devices: the Echo, Tap, or Dot? I understand that they are named those three. My friend has the Tap but says it will not connect to an emplifier for better sound. I'd like to hear about anyone's experience and recommendations. I have the VR Stream but my friend says the amazon device is even more fun. I'd sure like to know more.

Thanks, anybody.

I'm running Windows 7, so perhaps someone else who's using it can answer
this: should there be a Documents and Settings folder on my C-disk? I
*think* that I may have copied this folder from my old computer when I got
this one, but the weird thing is that as I make changes, the various files
in the folder are being updated and this is in addition to updates being
made in the Windows 7 folders where updates should be made. The folder
contains what appear to be duplicates of the contents of the Users folder,
but if I remove it, I'm afraid that the result will be that what's in Users
will be deleted and I definitely don't want that to happen. Any suggestions
or advice?

If this search works like the search in Windows Live mail
and like the search in the Windows start menu, you don't
have to waste time and effort typing full contact names.
Just type what you think will get you the name without a lot
of extraneous results. If this is a very common name or the
partial choices you might use might produce a lot of
results, then typing the full name might be the best option.
But it is often not necessary to type anywhere near the full
name. for example, typing smi will show you all results
containing the letters smi. So SJohn Smithers would come
up, as well as John Smith or if someone were named Smile
Jones, which is very unlikely but it illustrates the point,
you would see that name since you would see names containing
smi anywhere in the name.

But let's say you know you only have one smith and a lot of
people named John in the contacts. Typing smi if you only
have one or two smis will show you the result you want. Or
typing smith would only show you the one result you want.
Typing just John would show you every John result and
Johnson, if there is one. So a bit of thought can save you
a lot of typing and looking through extraneous results.

the same is true in the Windows start menu search. I so
seldom use my lap top online that I haven't bothered to
create a short cut command for opening Windows Live Mail. I
just type the word mail in the start menu. I only have one
program with the word mail so I immediately am placed on the
correct result. Typing Windows or live or Windows Live
produce more results.

I use the search feature so that I can find the contact by
simply typing part of what I'm looking for and then looking

Hello everyone,
I'm back and feeling much better. Thanks for all the good wishes.
I have

a severe dislike of hospitals so I have a bad habit of putting off
going
until I absolutely must. In the past this has served me well
enough since

I very rarely get sick, but eventually the odds do catch up with you.
This was my first major hospital stay ever so it was not a pleasant
experience. I won't go into all the gory details, but I'll just say
that I

thought I had one thing which turned out to be something else. It
turns
out I have a serious blood infection which has kept me on
antibiotics for

the last week and a half in the hospital and will mean another 5 to 6
weeks on antibiotics at home through an IV. For 3 days before I
finally
went to the hospital, I had aches, chills, and was incapable of eating
anything. Most of the side effects are gone now and I am now able
to eat

again. I had to wait 3 days for my blood cultures to show negative
bacteria before they would release me, but still, 5 to 6 weeks of
antibiotics through an IV even at home is not going to be fun.
