Hello,
OK, think I'm confused. Caps lock space, I'll have to try later. But, what's the difference between VMWARE player, and VMWARE station? I have VMWARE station, and alt-m just plays the windows error tone.

Hi All,

Got this from a friend, & thought some of you might be interested.

** Verizon Launches Accessibility Features

Verizon Communications recently launched a resource page for its newly upgraded FiOS accessible video subscription service. The page provides information on FiOS text-to-speech functionality, which was pushed out to subscribers during a recent software update throughout the Verizon network.

The upgraded accessibility features are part of the changes made through the 21st Century Communications & Video Accessibility Act (CVAA), which requires cable providers to make their navigation systems accessible for customers who are blind and visually impaired. These features are currently available on most FiOS systems. To learn more about the accessibility upgrades, including steps on how to activate such features, visit,

In short, you'll need to have a Microsoft Account and add a payment method.
Once purchased, you can use KNFB Reader on all sorts of Windows 10 devices
as long as you sign into the Store with your MSA.

Hi,

I think I'm going to give the KNFB Reader app a shot on Windows 10. I'm not
at all familiar with the purchasing process on that platform. Does anyone
have a handy quick reference guide, or will I find it a pretty intuitive
process? Also, I currently only have Windows 10 on one system. Once I
upgrade this system to Windows 10, will I be able to access my purchases
here as well, or does one need to purchase them separately? Thanks in

Hi Everyone,
I just thought that I'd mention that there is an update for the Bard express, and while I was having problems with the program on my desktop, now with my new update everything is just whizzing along with no problems. I know that someone else had mentioned that they were having problems with the program, you might want to get the update and see what happens.

Try just plain alt and right arrow through the menu. It has been a while since I used VM player.
Are you sure that you are sending keystrokes to the vritual machine. Press control g to send input and control alt to end that and return to the host.

Just connect your display to the computer as normal.
In VMWare, you have an option
"Removable devices"
under the tools menu, I think.
Under that menu entry is your braille display. Have it
disconnect
from host and connect to guest. If it is USB, BRLTTY
will see it and
you will have braille. That has always worked reliably
for me.

There are others that do the same, perhaps someone can offer another

Try alt+o, I think. I thinkt he
"Removable devices"
is under power.
Insert space brings up Orca preferences.

Re: Desktop Computer problems

Gene

Did you do all these changes to try to solve the keyboard problem and would you not have done them otherwise?  the hard drive wouldn't have anything to do with this problem.  It is for storing and retrieving information.  Replacing the keyboard once might have been a good idea but more than once is useless expense.  One defective keyboard, maybe.  More than one, extremely unlikely.  And if you are saying that you are doing daily scans with all these programs, that's real overkill.  CCleaner is not an antimalware program.

I'm not going into all this to give you a hard time.  I'm saying that before you spend time and money trying to solve a problem like this I would suggest you ask about it first, not after you have done these things.  If you had asked first, you might have saved a good deal of time and money.  I don't know what the answer is.  but since replacing the keyboard didn't help, I would think it's a hardware problem of some sort.  I'll leave further discussion to those with more technical knowledge than I have.

Hello All,

I have a HP/Compac desktop running Win 7 pro as the o/s.  More than occasionally, when typting, it will not register a key press or will fill in multiple key presses of the last letter typed on the keyboard with one press of a letter key. This started happening when it had a spinning Western Digital black drive so cloned it and changed it out to a Samsung 850 SSD.  I have also replaced the keyboard 3 times with new out of the box usb keyboards and have reseated the RAM several times to no avail.  The internal cooling fans are cleaned every month.  Miscrosoft Security Essentials, and Malware Bytes pro have been used on the machine along with CCleaner on a daily basis to keep the machine virus free.

Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Thank you,

I keep getting these intrusive messages about I need to
