Re: A service better than drop box, I love it!
Hi Carlos,
I got signed up using Firefox, &
installed the Windows chingaderra, pCloud_Windows_3.5.6. I can sign into
my account, but I'm curious as to why the PCloud Drive icon on the desktop
doesn't do didly squat! LOL

Hi Mike,
The activation link is in
the welcome Email you should have received after signing up. If
you didn't receive the Email, then you may have tried to sign up using IE which
doesn't seem to work. In that case, you should try again using
Firefox.

Re: configuring nvda for internet explorer
I've used System Access to Go, JAWS and Window-eyes
as well as NVDA. NVDA doesn't perform worse on the Internet than any of
the other screen-readers I've mentioned..
You may have heard two links because they are both on the
same line of the web page. To prevent this, go into browse mode settings
and tab to a check box that says use screen layout when supported. Uncheck
it with the space bar. Then tab to and activate the ok button. Then
save the settings. JAWS and Window-eyes have this setting as well but I
don't know what they call it. When you turn off this option, it means that
every link is displayed on a separate line.
I'm not sure what other problems
you may be having but they can probably all be worked out. There are cases
now and then when one screen-reader works better on a certain site than
another. I doubt this is the case with Pay Pal since many blind NVDA users
use it.

Gene, I did the things you suggested. Navigation is still poor. I
tried doing work in PayPal and I'd get to approximately where I needed to go and
then I'd hear two links s;poken. Of course, I had no idea which one I was
focused on. I had to tab and shift-tab to get to the right one. I didn't find
fields to fill out or for me to continue to the next step. System Access
handles this and most other sites better than NVDA. Maybe there's a
computer issue. I don't have a clue. I really thank you for working with

For ordinary listening, it would be as absurd as having a sighted reader read
such things as block quote aloud every time they appeared. It's a way of
quoting material in terms of format. I usually don't want to hear headings
announced but you might. Do you know how to move by headings on a page,
whether they are announced or not? Of course, links should be
announced. There may be instances such as when readingt a Wikipedia
article with a lot of links in the text where you might want to turn this
announcement off. I just about never do. I have gotten used to
hearing the word link before a link and I just leave it on. I learned to use the
Internet efficiently long before Aria landmarks were available and I never use
then and I have their announcement off. Th! ose who use Aria
landmarks may want to comment on how they use them if that would help you
decide. > > Since I don't know what you know about
Internet page navigation, at this point it isn't clear to me whether you just
need help with settings or whether you should use some sort of instructional
material to learn to navigate the Internet well and that would probably tell you
what all these items are and how they are used in navigation. Embedded objects
probably wouldn't be explained unless the instructional material dealt
specifically with NVDA on the Internet. But you could read about embedded
objects in the users guide. I know they are covered there. >

possibly the only one?
I wonder why IE does not work for them, I imagine they are out of the
country based on their phone number I found after a Google search.

Yes, you get as much upload as download.
And it reflects your plan. So if you buy the 500GB plan,
witch is only 5 bucks a month, you get 500 up, and 500 down.
And if you need more traffic, you can customize your
subscription.

Okay,
I am on another list that shares media and other
things. And instead of using dropbox, or send space
with I absolutely hate, they used a service called “pCloud”.
It has a IOS, Mac, windows, and android app. You get
10GB free, and get 1GB up to 20gb free for referring a
friend. You get upload and download traffic
allowances, and the app is 100 percent accessible on both
Mac and PC. CAn’t say for windows or android, cause I
don’t use it on either of those platforms. Anyway,
it’s free, unless you want to upgrade, and there plans are
insanely cheap. Anyway, below is my referral

Good Evening,
I am in need of a new talking blood pressure cuff
and I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations.
I tried to replace the wrist cuff that I had but it
is no longer available and the one I purchased is not only working incorrectly,
it is not very user friendly, so I would like to try a different
model.
The one I purchased is a Lumiscope Talking Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor -
English-Spanish.
Thank you.

Hi Mike,
The activation link is in
the welcome Email you should have received after signing up. If
you didn't receive the Email, then you may have tried to sign up using IE which
doesn't seem to work. In that case, you should try again using
Firefox.

Okay, I am on another list that shares media and other things. And instead of using dropbox, or send space with I absolutely hate, they used a service called “pCloud”. It has a IOS, Mac, windows, and android app. You get 10GB free, and get 1GB up to 20gb free for referring a friend. You get upload and download traffic allowances, and the app is 100 percent accessible on both Mac and PC. CAn’t say for windows or android, cause I don’t use it on either of those platforms. Anyway, it’s free, unless you want to upgrade, and there plans are insanely cheap. Anyway, below is my referral link. Sign up with it, and we both get a free GB.

Hi Mike, Did you click on the link to enable the PCloud Drive? The icon on the desktop appears only to be related to settings and isn’t to do with transferring as far as I can assess. J.

Re: configuring nvda for internet explorer
Gene, I did the things you suggested. Navigation is still poor. I tried doing work in PayPal and I'd get to approximately where I needed to go and then I'd hear two links s;poken. Of course, I had no idea which one I was focused on. I had to tab and shift-tab to get to the right one. I didn't find fields to fill out or for me to continue to the next step.
System Access handles this and most other sites better than NVDA.
Maybe there's a computer issue. I don't have a clue.
I really thank you for working with me.

I don't know if the user's guide explains the concepts enough for you to understand them. I haven't read that section of the guide to any extent. I also don't know what you would want to hear. You might want to hear things I don't. Do you know much about web page navigation? I can tell you things I would turn off. I consider block quotes to be useless unless you are doing something such as writing a paper and it might be useful to know. For ordinary listening, it would be as absurd as having a sighted reader read such things as block quote aloud every time they appeared. It's a way of quoting material in terms of format. I usually don't want to hear headings announced but you might. Do you know how to move by headings on a page, whether they are announced or not? Of course, links should be announced. There may be instances such as when readingt a Wikipedia article with a lot of links in the text where you might want to turn this announcement off. I just about never do. I have gotten used to hearing the word link before a link and I just leave it on. I learned to use the Internet efficiently long before Aria landmarks were available and I never use then and I have their announcement off. Those who use Aria landmarks may want to comment on how they use them if that would help you decide. Since I don't know what you know about Internet page navigation, at this point it isn't clear to me whether you just need help with settings or whether you should use some sort of instructional material to learn to navigate the Internet well and that would probably tell you what all these items are and how they are used in navigation. Embedded objects probably wouldn't be explained unless the instructional material dealt specifically with NVDA on the Internet. But you could read about embedded objects in the users guide. I know they are covered there. Hello, Gene,
Thank you for writing.
My difficulty with NVDA is that I do not understand the concepts well enough to know what will happen when I change items in the browser or document formatting preferences.
I do not know what embedded objects, banner landmarks or frames are.
I changed some things and made matters worse. I reset them, however.
I hope this makes my message make more sense.

Do you know how to find things in the help system? The users guide explains all the configuration items. While you may want to change a setting or two outside of the document formatting menu, that's were the settings almost all are that you might want to change, if you do want to change settings. The settings you would want to change deal with what is announced such as tables, block quotes, headings and other features as you move through a web page. If you look at the settings in document formatting, you will see a lot of things you can have or not have announced. Gene ----- Original Message -----

And if you need more traffic, you can customize your
subscription.
Do you know anything about the upload/download
traffic limits?

Okay,
I am on another list that shares media and other
Anyway, below is my referral
link. Sign up with it, and we both get a free GB.

Once you are signed up IE will work to navigate the site.

So if I understand correctly and I have considered it from time to time it will become necessary for me to install fire fox. Are there any other accessibility issues to be aware of, or is this possibly the only one? I wonder why IE does not work for them, I imagine they are out of the country based on their phone number I found after a Google search. Yep, if you tried with IE it probably didn't take. ----- Original Message ----- From: David Ferrin via Groups.Io Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2017 2:37 PM Subject: Re: [TechTalk] A service better than drop box, I love it! I didn’t receive such an animal as a confirmation message. Perhaps it didn’t take my registration. I did it with IE and from some cross talk might that be a problem? No. You just have to confirm your Email address with the message they send you after signing up. ----- Original Message ----- From: David Ferrin via Groups.Io Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2017 2:27 PM Subject: Re: [TechTalk] A service better than drop box, I love it! I signed up as well, is there some sort of waiting process until you may use the service? So does that mean you would get 10 GB of download traffic per month for the free service? ----- Original Message ----- From: Kliph Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2017 9:12 AM Subject: Re: [TechTalk] A service better than drop box, I love it!
