Hi Gene, it is the one that came with the laptop and I haven’t installed any software relating to the soundcard.

Is the sound card connected?  You will only see it if it is.  Also, have yu installed the software for the soundcard?  If you haven't. you may not see any or almost no options for working with the sound card such as when you change the recording source in the Windows volume control.

Re: question about Verizon email services

I wonder why I didn't see any results when I looked.  Maybe if I had gone beyond about four results in the searches I did, I would have.  I thought such an item would appear very close to the top of results.  I looked at the story and for those who want to keep their accounts as AOL accounts, there isn't much to do and the addresses won't change.

I have been told by two different people who have received emails from Verizon and also from some research of my own that Verizon is going to stop providing email services next month. People will have to change over to AOL which Verizon already owns or obtain a third party provider such as Yahoo ETC.

I’m just trying to get to the bottom of this situation is all.

Very few keyboards are that OS specific.  Although some are designed with a certain operating system in mind.  Also, I am using it on Windows an if you read further down the page, it does list Windows compatibility.

I looked at both of them.  The second one is described as being for mac computers.  Do you use it on a windows pc as well?

The following are both keyboards which I personally own.  The first one
is a full-sized keyboard which has a built-in touchpad and uses an RF USB dongle.  The second one
uses bluetooth, can pair with up to 5 separate devices, and can also be used in USB wired mode.  Both have the F keys assigned to the standard functions by default.

I must work with a laptop that does not have a dedicated numeric pad.  It is running windows 7 professional.  Rather than lose productivity while learning my screen reader’s laptop layout, I thought I’d invest in a full-sized wireless keyboard.  I can use either blue tooth or usb dongle type keyboards.  I want one that can be easily configured such that the function keys perform like the old style pf keys without pressing the fn key.

Does anyone have a recommendation for me?

Thank you,
George

Actually, Compact Flash cards are just as readily available now as they always have been.  Many cameras especially high-end models still use them.

Sugar, I wanted to respond and tell you how I do it.  Since the Pacmate uses compact flash cards, get yourself a cheap USB card reader and a couple of compact flash cards.  Then dump the files to be transferred on to a compact flash card.  Then transfer that compact flash card to your Pacmate and transfer those files easily and reliably.  Remember that the Compact flash cards have to be formatted as FAT, not FAT 32. Incidentally, I paid no more than ten dollars for the card reader I am talking about. The only potential problem is that Compact flash cards are not as readily available as they once were.

Hi,

when in main window of the program or app whatever they’re calling them these days (smile) go to timelines menu and click on manage. In there you’ll see what is set to show and what is hidden and you can change them as needed to suit you.

I hope that helps.

Logitech makes a nice wireless USB keyboard mouse combo for around $20.

It is full sized but only a single applications key. I have owned it for maybe 3 years or so already and still on the first set of batteries.

Best Buy carries the Logitech keyboards. I think one model I really
liked was the M8000? It featured a nice full keyboard with plenty of
key travel, six-pack of operational keys (Home, End, Insert, Delete,
Page Up, Page Down) and I'm pretty sure the F keys could be configured
the way you're looking for.--Joe
