Accessible VPN service
Cristóbal
Hello list, Haven’t paid this topic much thought, but with the recent rollback in ISPN regulations on privacy, I figured it would be something worth familiarizing myself with to perhaps get one for the house. The sighted wife uses a VPN on her iPad to watch German language content since she’s from over there, but since she doesn’t have to worry about screen readers and whatnot, I thought I’d ask around on these lists to see what other screen readers and users of mobile devices are using? Free or paid, it doesn’t matter. Nothing overly complicated if possible and something capable of handling an entire house of connectivity or whatever that may entail. Both my wife and I run our businesses from home and have the standard set up. AC duel channel router, Surfboard modem with 300MB down with TWC etc. In my case, I’m using JFW 18 on both a laptop and desktop. Along with I-devices with VoiceOver. Any suggestions on a service or in general what I should pay attention to would be appreciated. Thanks,

To get to the list of search
providers do the following:
1. Open IE, press, alt + T, for
Tools, & press the letter, A, to open manage add-ons.
2. You'll be in a list of radio
buttons, so arrow up / down to, Search Providers, & tab 1 time into the list
of search engines / search providers.
3. Arrow up / down to, Google, now do
as Carlos stated.

Re: how long should a white cane be?
James Bentley
You were right. Tripping people up leads to nothing but broken legs
and broken canes. And, a lot of bad will toward the users of canes.
I always pull my cane up when I come to a stop in a croud.
My canes go 1 to 2 inches above the breast bone but different users have
their own preferences.

Re: how long should a white cane be?
Pamela Dominguez
They used to say up to your breast bone, but most of us blind people feel
that it is too short. The Lighthouse used to try to tell us that when we
would go to buy a cane, we had to have it measured up to there. A good
mobility instructor told me that, when they were first developing cane
techniques, they decided on that, simply because it was a measurable part on
everybody’s body, and nothing more. George and I would always tell the
people who wanted us to have canes like that, that we were the ones using the
cane, so we knew what we needed. Thankfully, I have not had a person try
that on me in about twenty or thirty years, now. Pam.
