I don't have any problem clicking on links, including "mailto" links.  Although some Windows update did break the "SendTo" option for attachments.

I'm not sure why that is.  Perhaps it's a problem caused by using a program Microsoft doesn't intend to be useed beyond XP.  As Carlos has pointed out, enough people have problems with Outlook Express in later versions of Windows that he doesn't recommend it to be used.

Unless you have a particular reason for using Outlook Express that other e-mail programs won't meet well or reasonably well, it would likely make more sense to use another one.  The most similar to Outlook Express in terms of programs you can download and install is the old menu version of Windows Live Mail.  I believe you can keep Outlook Express on your machine if you have Windows Live Mail so you can try it while still using Outlook Express for now if you wish.  But in case my recollection is wrong, let's see what others say.

Re: Win10, Creator, wants a password when waking up from sleep

Rajmund <brajmund2000@...>

hi,
sorry if catching up, and others have answered already, but.... hit the windows key. type in netplwiz, and uncheck the box, then type in the password twice more. if you don't type it at the right boxes, though, the password box will remain unchecked, but the thing will still ask for passwords, so be careful. if this fails, I may have another solution.

Another keystroke to try if the link was sent in plain text, is to place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke, Shift + Enter.

in Windows 10

Hello everyone,

It seems that the Virtual Recorder utility is no longer working in
Windows 10. Probably due to incompatibilities, the audio virtual
capture device is causing FFmpeg to completely freeze up. That's
what I get for not testing more often. I have no idea how long the
problem has existed so it could go back to the Anniversary edition.
Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about this until or unless
the developer updates the DLL. Recording via the sound
card/hardware audio devices still seems to work as expected, but the
ability to record anything playing through the sound card is
broken. You can still use your sound card's
"Stereo Mix"/"What You Hear"
option if it has that capability to achieve similar results, but
the primary reason for creating Virtual Recorder was for cards
especially on laptops that do not have that feature. My apologies.
I will of course post a fix if the DLL is ever updated, but
considering that the last release was made three years ago, I won't
be holding my breath.

You may not recall or have been aware, and it is a bit more tricky to do with a DVD, but I also wrote/included a script which allows you to add program shortcuts dynamically at startup.  For more information, review the comments in the file named
shortcuts.ini.example
in the root of the
Programs
folder.  The easiest way to add anything to a DVD is to extract the ISO file from my download, open it in something like UltraISO, add files to the image, and resave.  This will insure the image retains the boot information.  Of course, it is much easier to add anything if you write the image to a flash drive instead.

That's odd.  The unofficial version is working here in 52.  I haven't tried the other.

That used to be the case with me, and I had actually uninstalled the officially updated one, 0.9.5, and backed down and installed the James Scholes modified version, 0.9.2. This morning I ended up having to do things the opposite way, and now the 0.9.5 one is working for me. Very strange.

I remember discussion a few months ago that the add on made available by the developers didn't work properly and the recommendation of one or two people was to use the James Scholes version..  Maybe it works on Carlos' machine or machines but even if it does, I suspect it doesn't on many.

Hello Group,

Am I to understand that when you go to the link Carlos gave and use that official installation page--that the Webvisum add on works again?  When I did this, I get the default user name appearing under the account settings with a blank password field.  When I enter the proper password, and then try  saving the settings by clicking on the OK button, nothing happens.  It will not activate the OK button.

What could be causing this and how can it be solved?

Interesting.  It works for me with the portable version as well.  You said you were using the modified version by James Scholes.  Did you try the version officially updated by the developer here?

Hmm, even with portable Firefox, I can't seem to sign in. At least Webvisum tries now where it won't even get that far with FF53..

Yes I use Rumola as well, but there are some captchas that WebVisum can resolve that Rumola cannot and vice versa so it's good to have access to both.

It seems that Firefox 53 has truly broken Webvisum this time, and not even the modified version of the extension from James Scholes works anymore. Has anyone found a way around it? If not, what are people doing these days for solving captchas? Thanks.
