So it's recording for hours at a time when this happens? LOL I can't say that I've ever tested recording over such an extended period of time, but I'll look into it.

I heard that the free open source libreoffice works better. and you can also use google sheets in firefox with NVDA and download a local copy of the spreadsheet to your machine as an .xlsx file.

Okay, I just verified that if you check the, Accessible Checkbox, in the list of settings this will in turn put, Accessible=1, in your IFW.ini file, & by doing this Jaws will not report checkboxes, or their status in the list of Backup Options.

Hi Carlos,

Okay, I see what's happening.  When you 1st open Settings,& you're on, Simple Operation, if you tab 1 time you are on: Partition selection Radio buttons with, No, Individual, & links checkboxes as your choices.  But, if you, Shift + Tab, into the main list, & arrow down 3 times, 4 of 23,  you are now on, Accessible checkboxes, & if you tab 1 time you get the options as stated earlier.  Partition selection Radio buttons with, No, Individual, & links checkboxes as your choices.

Now I know how I got that entry in my IMF.ini file of: Accessible=1
I somehow checked the, Accessible Checkboxes, item, & then unchecked it by removing it from the IFW.ini file.
Which, while being checked, stopped Jaws from reporting the status of the checkboxes, or reading the checkboxes at all!  LOL

I get the impression that the
"Accessible Check Boxes"
option may have made a difference at some point in older versions, but the developer probably hasn't kept up with this code and now it doesn't seem to have much of an affect one way or the other.

What version of Windows are you running? And are you using the portable or installed version of Virtual Recorder?

Am I the only one having this problem? If I am recording with virtual recorder for a while, and I try and hit the pause, or stop button, it won't stop, or pause. And if I force close the application, the recording it made is corrupted. Can anyone help me on this?

Re: Image for Windows, Creating An Image

Hi Mike,

In the
"Image for Windows - Settings"
dialog, there is an item labeled
"Accessible Check Boxes"
in the main list of options.  This option controls the
Accessible=1
item you found in the INI file.  Mind you, I'm not quite sure exactly which checkboxes it is supposed to affect because I haven't noticed any difference whether it is enabled or disabled.

I do not think I'll buy one. Just too much money for what I feel I

I have been a Stream user ever since they came out. Lordy, I cannot

Yes, it appears that the new "combo" unit does have "built in" BT

This seems to be the only additional feature of interest to me as a V

What is this new one? How much storage does it have? Is the speaker
quality better than the Victor. I mean, this is like pulling a scab

whether or not I can get one.

Laz on Blind Best had a great demonstration of a Daizy Reader, and I
like Sally and Joey, oh way, way, way better than Heather and Ryan.
Trouble is though that as I understand it, you can't access BARD with
it. The controls sounded so smart and logical.

It should be a very good experience as a first go into the world of the V Stream.

I do not think I'll buy one. Just too much money for what I feel I would get.

I have been a Stream user ever since they came out. Lordy, I cannot even remember how long ago that was. As I remember it, the NFB was in Atlanta. Everyone who ordered one was put into a drawing to get it free. And, my God, I won it! Ha!

Again, I am sure you will enjoy this new unit.

Yes, it appears that the new "combo" unit does have "built in" BT capability.

This seems to be the only additional feature of interest to me as a V Stream Next Generation user. I am currently thinking that it is a lot to pay for onboard BT capability.

What is that new device. I just bought a Stream, which I am having to
send for repair, but I believe that it is Bluetooth capable.

What is this new one? How much storage does it have? Is the speaker
quality better than the Victor. I mean, this is like pulling a scab
off a sore for me to ask you this, but I'd be interested to know
whether or not I can get one.

Laz on Blind Best had a great demonstration of a Daizy Reader, and I
like Sally and Joey, oh way, way, way better than Heather and Ryan.
Trouble is though that as I understand it, you can't access BARD with
it. The controls sounded so smart and logical.

Best from,

Carolyn

put in a Pre order for it. I have been waiting for the newer version

better. I never expected this. You save 100 bucks on pre order so that

hi,
we all know they will eventually drop it. look what happened to the apex. and that guy tried telling me that keysoft drives the touch, and so the fact that the thing runs kitKat pretty much doesn't matter. those who follow tech, and android, know that this is not true at all. having said that both about humanWare, and that Roger guy, and knowing what I know, why should I believe them? I'm not saying you're wrong, but we all know where this is going. so my question stands still, as proud as it can be.
PS. read the thread, thank you very much.

here, the point is, they make people pay for stuff that some will never use. I can tell you now, at least 1 third of the stream people have no interest in the GPS part, I'm sure of it. But they'll now have to pay for it, whether they want to or not.

Re: Looking for Spread Sheet other than Office

Mike Thomas

Not sure Steve. As I contemplated replying to your post earlier I began to think about As Easy As 1-2-3. A search for As Easy As Spreadsheet returned a sight that had multiple spreadsheets, all of which are free. Anyway, about Apache, I just completed a course on Excel, and found that most things in Excel work fine in Apache spreadsheet, or what ever it might be called. Hope you can find what you need.
