Well Alan, a couple of questions: one, what do you want to do with this scanner?; two, how much money do you want to spend? If you just want it for reading the occasional mail or church bulletin or whatever, a small epson scanner for under an hundred dollars will do. On the other hand, if you want to do heavy scanning of books and so on, you will want to spend the $250.00 for a Plustek Book Edge Scanner. Ann P. Original message:

Thanks for the reply, I plan on getting with the guy who works on my computer this week and discussing the situation with him to see what he thinks. As I mentioned before other than the cd drive not working everything else seems to be functioning so maybe that bodes well for me being able to save this laptop and bnot have to pay the price for a new one. Re: Cleaning the cd-rom drive in my laptop
Michael Boyd <mike122061@...>
Most any problem with any electronic device due to a liquid spill is going to show up immediately. You would already know it if any fatal damage was done. If you can remove the CD ROM drive and it is not enclosed, many are not, then a little alcohol, a rag and some cotton swabs will typically do the trick for you. This will probably help with the keyboard as well. If you cannot get the keys to come off of the keyboard, there is a tool available to do this which cost around $5. Spenting $10 - 15 on these items which you probably already have is much better than the cost of investing in a new computer. You can pick up a new CD/DVD ROM drive for anywhere between $20 to as muhch as you wish to spend. Some of these carry the name brands of the most popular electronics manufacturers.

Your server can tell you, if you are leasing your router, byut if you have bought, you would need to find it if you've filed the password or get someone to read from the bottom of the router. It is case sensitive, so you would keep that in mind when copying, if you can get it from your server.

I have my Victor Reader Stream connected to our Wi-Fi, download right to it, maybe 20-30 books, then shift over and read whatever book I'm reading while downloading. Often I stop reading, and it is still downloading, because it takes a long time to load a bunch of books. Anyway, I am really happy with mine, especially like browsing the collections.

JAWS & Making Macros or Templates, Maybe?
Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>
Hi
All,
Running Windows 7
Pro, Jaws 16 thru J2018, & Office 2010.
What I am
wanting to do is to be able to paste 1 page over the top of another in this
format. I have trivia questions that I send out with answers, There are 15
questions with 15 answers. I would like for the questions to have 6 blank
lines between them. i.e, Question #1 would be on line #1, Q #2 would be on
line #7, Q #3 would be on line #13....
This way when I
paste the answers over the top of the questions, with the answers being of
a simlar format, but using different line numbers. i.e, Answer #1 would be
on line #4, A #2 would be on #10, A #3 would be on line #16..., all the way
through for the 15 questions & answers..
Using this
presumed format each line of text, either a question or answer, would have 2
blank lines separating them. Is there a macro or template available that
will do this? If not, can someone give me instructions on how to create
such a macro or template?
All help will be greatly appreciated & graciously accepted. Thank y'all very much. Take care.

Re: seeking headset
Gene
What kind of quality do you want? These days,
you can get very good sounding headphones for somewhere between forty and fifty
dollars, roughly. You can get headphones that don't sound nearly as good
for about twenty dollars, maybe five or ten dollars less, I haven't priced
headphones to any extent for a long time. I know you can get very good
sounding headphones for something like forty or fifty dollars because I did
perhaps a year ago. But I haven't looked at cheap headphones for a long
time.
But no one can advise you unless you tell us what
quality you want, whether you want larger headphones, or smaller headphones,
intended for use in portable devices such as MP3 players and you want to be able
to carry the headphones around easily.
