It is connected to the computer.  It is a wired keyboard.  If it doesn't have a numpad, it doesn't have a numlock.  I don't know what key you are pressing but the numlock is a key on the numpad.  If you want to use the internal keyboard, you can buy a USB numpad and use it while using the internal keyboard.  You can also buy an external full keyboard that has a numlock if you want to use a completely external keyboard.

My laptop used to have a numlock key so it was possible to put numbers instead of letters as I don't have a numpad in it.
The problem is: numlock seems to just not work anymore. Even when I press it, it doesn't do anything.
So how do I can get it back?
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Drive not showing in My Computer

Walter Ramage

Hi All.  This morning I was working with three of my external drives, 2seagate drives and a WD My book drive.  I am using Windows 7 64bit.

I am, or was using JAWS 2018 but I found Jaws would go silent for nearly 10 seconds every time I did something or changed windows.  This was annoying so I installed the latest version of Jaws (2019).  Before I did this installation all was fine with my drives but I shut them down before the install of Jaws.  When done I turned all three back on and the Seagate drives started up fine but I got a Windows dialogue asking me if I wanted to scan and fix the WD drive.  Since I knew all was well previously I said no and I got the normal dialogue i.e. do I want to open the drive with explorer.  When I did all my files were their but I couldn't do anything with them such as rename files etc.  I closed the drive down and went back to my computer but my WD drive didn't show.  I went to Device manager and it was there and said it was working correctly but clearly it isn't.  I have turned off the drive and disconnected it and then re-connected it again but I still get the scan and fix dialogue and I've said yes a couple of times but seconds after I've hit the start button I get the auto play dialogue again.  Any suggestions as to how I can get my drive to show in my Computer once more please.  Walter.

Why not focus in the main inbox at the top of the tree and view all inboxes at once?
At the top of the tree you have "inbox," if you tab you'll be in the emails for all inboxes.

If you want to focus on emails from one inbox, just move to the inbox for that account.

While it's true that this feature physically locates inboxes one beneath the other for those with two or  more email accounts, what it does not do is move from one inbox to another when using the Next command when all messages in one inbox have been read. I was really hoping for this feature to work in this way. What on earth was Mozilla thinking? What would be the purpose in arranging inboxes one above the other if not to jump from  the end of one to the beginning of another with the Next command? I set it back to the old arrangement, which makes more logical sense to me.

A wired keyboard would be a keyboard you would hook up to one of the USB ports in your laptop.  So, you are referring to your laptop keyboard.  If you don’t have a numpad, I guess you don’t have a numlock.  Pam.

Hi all,

I have been looking into getting an accessible dvd player. My sighted husband has a large dvd and blueray collection. I found a player made by Philips that claims to have enhanced accessibility, including voice guided menus. the reviews for that player weren't all that great, but I haven't found any references to other manufacturers making anything that       would work for a totally blind person to navigate what is on the screen. My experience in the past with dvd players was that you had to be able to do that in order to start the disk playing in some cases, or to navigate to a given episode of a multi-episode disk etc. Any help out there?

Re: An article about net neutrality

Brian K. Lingard

From what I have seen, anything President Trump disagrees with, he labels Fake News, even though the people behind it may be able to convince a Jury, it is true!

Regarding a Government Broadcasting Service to inform Americans what Uncle Sam, as if the Whitehouse wants them to hear, this is prohibited by U. S. Statutes. The Voice of America, the shortwave service run by the U. S. Information Service, part of the CIA, is forbidden from broadcasting to Americans living in the several states, U. S. Possessions & Territories. Congress could see a Federal broadcaster becoming the Whitehouse Press Office, outlawed these idea years ago.

Congress seems to be of the opinion NEWS is best promulgated by editors of the several daily & weekly newspapers as well as the Producers in the NEWS departments of broadcast media.

In Britain, the BBC does a great job of delivering world & local NEWS to the British, and through their World Service, the entire world. They are known as a QUANGO, that is, a Government funded organization that acts independently.

The BBC truly loves shedding daylight on UK Government raft, corruption, and incompetence. A Few years ago, they blew open a Hospital in the UK with such poor infection control, the Kent & Suffolk Hospital was known as the Kent & Snuffit Hospital by local residents! However, it filed lovely reports to the National Health about how it was immaculately clean, with no infection hazards. The BBC TV NEWS showed filth encrusted on bathroom & shower walls, to the point where at least one Doctor at the Hospital said he feared bringing deadly infections home to his young children! As a Doctor, he knew well proper infection control, such as handwashing with antiseptic soap.

The Hospital scandal was serious enough, the Times, about the most Conservative Newspaper on Earth, placed the story on their Front Page, complete with lovely photographs of filth throughout the Hospital!

I do not see where this discussion involves neutrality of the Internet. It does involve some controversial topics.

I was unusually busy today and did not monitor the list for many hours.  I am pleased to say that, although the discussion got near being problematic, it did not reach that point, which speaks well of members' judgment.  I almost never have to moderate the list which speaks well of its members.

First of all, the full effect of net neutrality was not in place until

June

2018.  While there has been no significant change for many users as of

Now.

The liberal left sites are already under attack. I habitually listen to

Democracy Now http://www.democracynow.org and their daily stream at 8:00

Have

Reduced their band width--making their program quite low in volume and

Muffled.  The Randi Rhodes show http://randirhodes.com has experienced a

Section.

Progressive Voices radio has also experienced significant increases in

Fees

For service and is frantically asking for donations every few minutes.

None

Of these sources are prepared to continue their programs indefinitely.

I predicted that liberal and left sites would be the first targets.

They will

It's okay.  Typically when someone says they're using a wired keyboard that means they're using a USB keyboard plugged into the laptops USB port.  Is the Numlock key the only key that's giving you problems?

Hi Mike,
I'm having troubles with the laptop keyboard which I thought that was the same that a wired keyboard. That is, I don't use a wireless keyboard so I thought it was a wired one.
This keyboard don't have a numpad. I'm using NVDA.
Thanks for your kindness trying to understand my troubles. Maybe I wasn't so clear as I would like because English isn't my first language, so I may have wrong with something.
Just to clarify: I'm using my laptop keyboard. The keyboard that came with it.

I'm confused.  Are you having trouble with the wired keyboard or the laptop keyboard?  Does the wired keyboard have a numpad?  Is the numlock not working on both?  I don't know if this matters but, what screenreading program are you running?
Take care.  Go Rams!

It doesn't do anything anymore. Looks like the key don't even exist or it's useless now.

Hello folks.
Thanks.

hi all,

Disregard my request. The problem was resolved after I killed a rogue winword.exe process running in the background.

My friend has windows 7 and uses jaws 16. Everything was fine this afternoon, but now they keep asking for her gmail password. She doesn't have an alternate email account to use to get a code, and her phone is not a cell so she can't get it that way either. She signs on and it says "hi" and says her name. It's like it knows who she is, but they keep wanting a password that worked fine earlier today. Would system restore help with this, or is there another solution? I'll do a restore if that will get this up and running again, but didn't know if it would restore settings like this.

Thanks.

Actually, I don't think that the key isn't working itself.
It looks like it's something on the system, I just can't fix it since I don't know exactly what it is.

You could get a new keyboard or get a USB numpad.  Someone may tell you how to try cleaning the key.  I don't know if or how you can repair keys.
