Re: Lists and BCC in Outlook

Abbie Taylor

I'm sorry I didn't make this more clear, but I wasn't talking about this list and others that are already set up in such a way that you send a message to only one email address, and it goes to the entire group. Every month, I put together a newsletter for my local writing group, and I needed to create a distribution list of people in my group to whom I would send the newsletter. I was able to create such a list yesterday, thanks to some instructions I received from others here.

It's possible I never saw the second kind. How did you tell the difference? Pam.

two types of flexible discs, (1) the kind which were "cut" and (2) the
kind which were pressed. :) I remember both kinds, each had their issues
though the cleanest were the pressed ones of course which we wound up at
the end with. Many times you could get very nice quiet recordings from
those.

On the same note, has Thunderbird such a feature? It would be quite nice if I could set a sound to each list for the incoming emails.

I don't know but what screen-reader are you using?  JAWS can have sounds assigned for user defined words so you could assign a sound in JAWS to play instead of the names of the lists being spoken.

Re: How do I get microsoft voices to be in both core voices and sapi folders?

Gene

I don't think the responsiveness has anything to do with MSAPI.  It has to do with the synthesizer being used.  The newer class of synthesizers are generally far less responsive.  That's why a lot of blind people use a synthesizer of the older class, such as Eloquence, for work and a newer class synthesizer, with a more human sounding voice for straight reading.

People use MSAPI versions of Eloquence and some other older class synthesizers without responsiveness issues.

the One Core voices, however they are designed, may not have a responsiveness issue but not because of MSAPI not being used.

Thank you for that. I guess it doesn't matter if the voices are under
SAPI then if onecore are more responsive or whatever. I'm still
puzzled as to why all of them didn't show up as options in NVDA when I
chose that synth to use.
One core are more responsive to use--still doesn't keep up all the way
with my typing--but does a lot better than SAPI.
My next question would be why did the default change for language for
my computer once i downloaded these voices.

What I'm meaning that instead of using English--US for my spellcheck
in MS Office it has switched between AU, GB, and CA which is really
annoying since I have auto correct entries to make typing faster in
word. I've had to re-ad all of my shortcuts because of that.
I've tried editing the languages in MS Office, but it doesn't take
even if I follow the directions to do so. That is in the region and
language setting in windows main settings,  word options section, and
the language selection under the review tab.
Any ideas? I'm thinking I'm having trouble because they're varients of
English and not whole new languages.

Re: How do I get microsoft voices to be in both core voices and sapi folders?

You can't get them to show up because they're part of OneCore and aren't in SAPI, which that control panel controls the settings for. If you want OneCore voices to appear in SAPI, you'll need to edit the registry.

Thank you--you're right.
After you said that I switched to the same voice but onecore synth and
there is a big difference as to how it sounds. It still mispronounces
words and I've had to add a lot of speech dictionary settings since I
had to switch, but it is better.

Hi,

Anyone know of a site where I can download sounds for my Win. 7 computer? I just checked the items under the Sound menu, and they’re pretty lame! Ready for changes. Preferably somewhere I could get them free, and would allow me to sample the sounds before committing myself to a download. Once that’s done, how could I transfer the downloaded sounds to the Sound area of the Ctrl-panel? Thanks!

Perhaps it still works if you have it installed on some machines.  But since you can't download it any longer, that implies that it is no longer available for distribution.

find it on my machine. An online search for that extension ID does
come up with Rumola but i could not get any third party site for
downloading Rumola. all the sites just made me go in circles. Request
you to help.

Thank you.

Sorry, Rumola is dead and no longer works. The only captcha solver that
still works is Webvisum with Firefox 52 ESR or earlier.  Newer versions
of Firefox do not work with Webvisum, and Captcha Be Gone, like Rumola,
is also defunct.
