Kimsan, I think it’s better to do without passwords! That’s my preference on these mailing lists anyway. Better still, just create one, log into the lists group interface and change the password generated by the list server to one you like. This way, you’ll always remember your password <smile>!
Just for giggles, I can borrow you mine for a small fee payable on Wall Street!

Re: pop settings for charter
Kimsan <kimsansong@...>
I redid it with the pop.charter.net and it worked, well it said success, we have all the information we need, finish button. It was my password hahahaha that I was typing in wrong as I forgot I changed it. The weird thing is I can’t receive or send emails, I sent myself a test message, and only see them on the charter webmail site but not my outlook 2013. Well, back to the drawing board…

Very interesting.
Here’s the info I got from Charter.net when I set up my account back in 2011. receiving email pop3 = pop.charter.net port = 110 pop pass = password for the mailbox you’re setting up sending email smtp.charter.net port = 25 if pop and smtp don't work try mail.charter.net for both set your email client to use authentication = yes

Yes, like I just said reading the article it say nothing about a dual boot. I sure would like more info on that for sure. It really sounds like it would work with a dual boot only if you had your product key. In fact it says it will blow your previous windows away and if you dual boot and the partition you have don't have w7 or w8 on it I don't see how this would work without the product key. Yes if you had w7 on one partition and W8 on the other I could see this happening.

Re: Did a clean install of Win 10 without upgrading
Matt
Well. Nowhere does it say anything about a dual boot. It does say like you say below it blows away your existing copy of windows. But I don't want it to do this. I want to keep w7 just like I have it. And install w10 on a different partition. So if there is nothing on the other partition to blow away and do the key from how will this activate without your w7 key. It really sounds like if you do a dual boot from the article below you would need the key. Because it ask you for the key. I could see this working on the same partition but not on a dual boot without the product key at some point either during the install or after the install. So I need more info on the dual boot thing so ever who did it if he or she can explain more what happen and the process would be helpful and give me more confidence before I took the plunge!

Hello Caroline and all, logging into groups that I owe is very simple and easy. Very simple instructions to do this. First of all, it requires you to reset your password because it doesn't automatically email you your password whenever you subscribe to the group. However, I can possibly have this changed in the beta group. But for now, here's a simple or an easy way to do this. You can first start out, by going to the homepage of the groups.I0. Then clicking the login button, then click the forgot password button, enter your email address. Then click the forgot password button. Or whatever the button is next to that. After clicking this button, you can simply go back to your inbox, click a Nother link. That will take you to a place to reset your password. In this box, you will type in a new password. Once this is done click save and then you are good to go to log in pure groups that I/O account. Please feel free to give a shout at me the ways below in my signature if you get stuck and need help. The best way for the weekend is contacting me via phone as I am hardly at the computer on the weekends. For international callers you can simply FaceTime your iMessage me to schedule an appointment or email me to schedule an appointment and I will get back with you at my earliest convenience.

In the article you'll find this excerpt.: For those who are anxious to do a clean install, here's the trick: Don't do the online upgrade. Instead, from your current, activated copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, download the Windows 10 ISO file for the corresponding edition (Home or Pro), or create a bootable USB flash drive. Without exiting your current Windows version, double-click the ISO to mount it as a virtual DVD (or open the USB flash drive with installation media) and then double-click Setup. Your goal is to get to the screen with this full range of options: clean-install.jpg Choose the option I've highlighted at the bottom: the one that says you want to keep nothing. The Windows 10 Setup program installs a clean copy of the edition that corresponds to the one you have installed. As part of the process, it verifies the activation status of your old Windows, creates the new license certificate, and blows away your previous install. And you never had to enter a product key. Here's the full article: http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-quietly-rewrites-its-activation-rules-for-windows-10/ Blaster

Well, lots of us it is a pain as most of us cannot remember their password and I think you have to log in? I know when I go no mail and have to go up there 99 percent of the time I don’t know my password and have to jump through all kind of loops . If I knew how to go no mail by sending an email from my mail client like you would do to unsubscribe or subscribe I would do it that way. But I don’t and when I do I have to go to the site and try to login and it starts all over. JST
Thanks,
