Re: Facebook - Chrome vs Firefox
Shelly Kane
I just downloaded chrome last week and when I went to m.facebook.com, I had a lot of trouble. Internet explorer was much better for me. When I was using chrome, I thought I was searching when in fact, I was posting to my page. It doesn't say the same things as IE. It totally threw me off. The whole format was different. When I use IE, I can see search, then home, messages, my profile, and notifications. When I used chrome, it wasn't like that at all. Do you know if Firefox reads like IE? I haven't used chrome since I had trouble navigating. Shelly

Outlook.com Navigation Issues
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
I use outlook.com as one of my mail servers. I use Thunderbird to retrieve messages, so I seldom visit the site except for basic maintenance and security issues. I hadn't been there for a long time until today. When I visited the site to check my Spam filter, I got a big surprise. The site is much different than when I visited it several months ago and is very difficult to navigate. There are some shortcut keys I have seen on their help screen, but I don't know how to get to a list of the folders I have. I couldn't find where the Spam folder was. Does anyone have any tips and tricks as to how to use this site more efficiently? Any help would be appreciated. -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. They ask: "How Happy are You?" Here are instructions I found online. But I'm
not sure just how you apply them. Someone else may send instructions that
may be easier to apply, or with more information about how to perform the
operations from the keyboard.
There is a lot of advertising on the page but the
information is there.
but more important, is that you should be backing
up all files you don't want to lose. If you have a hard drive crash, using
Shadow Copy, you will still lose all your files. If your computer fails in
another way, you may have to spend money repairing an old machine you would
ordinarily replace just to get access to your files again. Very likely,
for less than the price of repairing the computer, you could buy a 4 TB external
USB hard drive, if you need that much room.

When you tried previous versions, did you go
farther up in the folder structure? Try opening this computer,
finding the c drive, and opening previous versions. Do you see older
versions of the c drive? If so, you should find older versions of the
downloades folder by opening a previous version of the drive, then finding the
folder in that version.

Media Pontes Downloader Help
Hi,
So, where can I find a help file for this program? I looked but apparently it hasn't one by default, and I'm having a hard time finding out how to manipulate its settings. I believe reading its help if there's something to read will save me a lot of time, and troubles :) Thanks a lot. I don't know about searching, but for posting, use the Jaws find command to search for the word "more." It doesn't show up as anything clickable, but when you find it, press Enter, and you should be taken to a page where you can create your post. I hope this helps.I

How to Use Google Chrome Commands - Access Dozens of Chrome's Features and Settings
Google Chrome is highly customizable, allowing you to fine-tune the
browser through hundreds of settings that affect virtually
everything ranging from the application's appearance to its
security-related features. While many of these tweaks can be made
through the interface's graphical menu buttons and links, Chrome
commands let you really get under the hood and take full control of
your browser.
These commands, entered into Chrome's address bar (also known as the Omnibox), not only provide shortcuts to settings accessible through the browser menus but also access to advanced options which are only available via this method. Below are some of the most useful Chrome commands along with a brief description of each. As always, it is best to use caution when modifying your browser's settings. If you are unsure about a particular component or feature, it may be best to leave it as is. Read the article: List of Chrome Commands Link: https://www.lifewire.com/using-google-chrome-commands-445685 Cheers, Marcio

Re: accidental delete of downloads directory, need to restore, urgent!

I see that this message tells you how to get into
the feature I was discussing. I hope system restore is on on your
machine. If it is, you will see previous versions. If not, you
won't.
As I think about it, you don't have to check to see
if System Restore is on. You have to see if previous versions of the
folder exist.

Re: accidental delete of downloads directory, need to restore, urgent!
Gene
The first question is whether system restore is
operating on the machine. If so, the machine is probably using a feature
of system restore called Shadow Copy. Shadow Copy makes copies of your
files and folders as they were when the restore point was made. I don't
know if you work with it in the same way in Windows 10 as in earlier versions of
Windows. I almost never use it aned I'd have to look at how it is done in
Windows 7 to describe the procedure. It may well be the same, given my
recollection of the interface concerning using Shadow Copy in Windows
7. But you don't run something called Shadow Copy. You use a feature
called "previous versions."
Since I don't have Windows 10, I'll let others
describe how to check to see if it is on. After you find out, if it is on,
I'll look at how to see and restore from Shadow Copy. But just running a
restore point probably won't restore the folder. If you are using the
downloads default folder, it probably isn't reverted as part of system
restore. You would probably have to use Shadow Copy for that.
And that may be the same for other folders that
aren't used as program and system and Windows folders.
