Shuffle Mode on VLC
Hi guys,
So, anyone using VLC could please tell me how to enable this mode? This button simply is nowhere to be found. So I'd love some help with it. Many thanks. Re: Windows10 and Email programs
Tree Mabry
I use NVDA, and have found Thunderbird to be the best option for my email needs. Outlook is another great choice, but for me, Outlook 2016 lags a bit for some reason. The only downside of Thunderbird, is that it's spell check is not as powerful as what you will find in the Microsoft Office apps. To get around this, I just use an Auto Hot key app I made that let's me spell check my emails in Microsoft Word.

It's been a while since I used the native Windows 10 mail app, so I can't really remember all of the reasons it did not work for me. I believe the main issue was that it did not offer the option for me to merge all of the inboxes of my various email accounts; of course, I may be remembering that wrong, please someone correct me if I'm mistaken. Either way, if you only have one email account that kind of inbox management would not be an issue for you. Good luck,

Re: PayPal Account
Howard Traxler <howard@...>
Thanks Bill, but when I did that, it actually took it and then it said they would send an access code to that number that I would need to log in. Well, even if I would put in my cell number, I don't take text messages; so I wouldn't get the access code anyway. Sure hate to give up my PayPal account. I've had it for almost twenty years and it's quite a convenience.

You have to go to the site and finish setting up your account. I haven't done it for a long time but if needed, I can tell you how to get to the right place after I look around.

Hi List. I would like to use the “Mute this topic” on some of the subjects that do not interest me.
However, it not only asks me for my email, but also for my password, which in all the cases that I know about, I did not set up.
How therefore, can I successfully do this?
Any advice will be gratefully received!

Hi Marcio, thank you for suggesting thunderbird. I'm quite used to outlook but I'm always willing to experiment with different programs. I'll let you know if I have any questions.

PayPal Account
Howard Traxler <howard@...>
Logging onto my PayPal account, after entering my name and password, it insists that I put in my cell phone number for security. This I WILL NOT do! I can't get past that screen. Their service person says there is no way around it; but I have in the past and can't remember how I did it. Has anyone else noticed this situation and figured out how to get in? It seems that there must be a way. Not everyone has a cell phone number and I won't admit that I do.
Any suggestions? Thanks. Howard

Re: Mesh Network, Raspberry Pi, IP Camera setup, Night Surveillance, suggestions needed
DJ
Beginning with your wireless system, the best I have found and currently use is the Netgear orbi. You can daisy chain the satellites and still have all of the Internet speed your provider gives you. All of our WiFi problems were gone after I set ours up. Search YouTube for reviews on it. I believe you won't be disappointed.

Mesh Network, Raspberry Pi, IP Camera setup, Night Surveillance, suggestions needed
David Mehler
Hello,
If anyone has any suggestions on mesh network products and setup, Raspberry Pi IP camera for surveillance setup, and integration please let me know. I'm needing some advice. My situation is this, I've got an area of my backyard that is needing to have an IP-based surveillance camera pointed at it to capture videos of any intruders. I've got several Raspberry Pis, and am wanting to use them in a video surveillance setup. My place has the cable modem and a router in the basement, then the main floor, then an upstairs area. I'm already thinking to support this setup of video surveillance I'm going to need to go mesh, put a wireless setup in each room I've got occational drops that I'm going to need to correct and thinking mesh might be the way. Once I get the mesh then going to get a Raspberry Pi camera and hook that to a pi then to an external drive for file storage. I'm thinking a 3 to 5 day rotation time, is this feasible? I'm also going to need a way to examine the files see if there's something other than blankness in them. Lastly, and this is a big one, i'd prefer not to break the bank on this. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks. Dave.
